although i don't fully agree with what is going on in iraq, i think it's time to support our troops. may they all come home safe and may their mental state stay clear and true. and amy they not be subject to chemical and biological agents.

and if we are really going to kick some ass, lets kick some ass quickly and precisely. go in there, snuff the guy, let most of our troops go home, help rebuild the country for those poor people, and get the fugg out.

amen, although i do not fully support bush, i support my military. they're risking their lives and i respect that.

I can't predict what will happen...neither can Bush. I think we should rely on the best judgment of our world leaders, not the judgment of one, or two if you want to include Tony Blair.

You're going to relay on other countries that don't like America for what to do?

MP5Raycer: I have not "attacked" anything. I have only questioned and offered ideas and thoughts. If you want to turn this into a personal thread about you and me (what you call a "pissing contest"), let me know and we can go to the flame threads. You cannot talk about war/conflict without debate regardless of what thread you post in. Also, you seem to be pretty gun-ho, why don't you take your own advice and sign up with the military? You should post again in the "question of war" thread so that you and I can debate about our ideas; thats of course if you feel that is more appropriate then in here.

Big Ben, thank god man. I have been telling people similar stuff at my college and all of them have to clue what the real story is nor do they understand patriotism. Half of them would be the first ones to flee to Canada if there was a draft. I am in FULL support of our military.

Bush said so him self that this was going to take time...so why is he rushing into it? Does Saddam have vacation time coming up or something? Or are the presidential elections getting too close and he doesn't have results? And while we sit here pondering the war as we're supposed to, the economy sucks ass!

G-damn it man, did you just say we're RUSHING into this? How long has bulls*** with Sadaam and the inspectors been going on? Since day after Desert Storm was finished! If we don't do something now - nobody ever will.

Here is another little fact that not many people know about.

Between WW1 and WW2, it took over 1000 inspectors 2 years to discover that Germany was producing chemical and biological weapons in civilian factories. Iraq is about 100,000 square miles bigger than Germany. Do any of you think we should wait that long?

During Desert Storm, there wasn't Anti-War s*** everywhere. ******* Hollywood needs to shut the **** up.

s***, during WWII, factories changed production to support the war, producing tanks and military planes and jeeps and s***. People changed their lives, women went to work in factories to up production for the war effort. You'd never ever hear of that happening now. ******* losers whining about war need to bite my ass so I can s*** down their throats.

The last military action that had as much protest was Vietnam, and we looked like a monkey ******* a football.

The concern that I have is about using the draft. The whiners and loser that get drafted and DON'T run to Canada are the pieces of s*** that get you and me killed on those front lines.

There will not be a draft for Iraq. But the sheer numbers that will be needed for North Korea could cause the reinstatement of a draft. To give all of you an idea of how big the war with North Korea would be, the estimates for allied casualties within the first 90 days of war are 50,000+. And over 100,000+ on the N.K. side. We have practiced this war with North Korea in computer simulations for years.

MP5Racyer: Hate to say it but your post title is correct, we are going to war. There is no turning back now.

I don't believe there will ever be another draft. Wars aren't fought with infantry like they were in the past. Technology has provided us with the ability to produce more damage with less personel. And a draft is to controversial.

ToBeBackDoc your statement is not correct, the terrain in Korea all but negates the technological superiority we have. Our tanks and Bradly IFV's wont have the manueverability the do in the desert. So the need for hundreds of thousands of foot troopers is needed, thus causing the possible need for a draft, sohould we goto war with NK.

As far as air strikes, its hard to blow something up thats in bunkers, hundreds of feet deep in a mountain, cause thats where 75-80% of NK's military assets are kept.

I served in South Korea for a year, and know the ins and outs of what a war would be like there, Big_Ben has hit the nail on the head again with that one.

Ben - I should have specified, I meant the draft for N.K.

We have to eliminate Iraq as a threat quickly, which is possible. Once that is done, and the rest of the U.S. funded United Nations joins in to keep them under control, then we can turn our attention to Korea. The problem is, you can't just take troops that fought in Iraq (or really even in Afghanistan) and just slide them over to N.K. We can only hope that we have enough time to build up enough of a volunteer army and not have to start drafting. I doubt that we will, though.

So you believe that if we went to N.K. we would need to reinstate the draft? I believe only in the extreme case of another true world war would the U.S. reinstate the draft only as a precausion to insure that we exhaust all our forces to insure victory. This is merely my opinion and you surley know more about this than I do. Only time will tell and GOD bless the men and women like you who serve this great country.
