Ticking/chattering noise from motor?

I always knew the ticking was normal, but the OPs issue definitely isnt the normal ticking lol

haha yeah no doubt. i remember when i went zoom zoom boom and my intake mani ate a screw. kinda sounds like the video but the knocking the OP is having sounds worse. either way not something i would want to hear (again!) on the side of the road.

tis a dangerous place....its the reason I havent stepped into our local location, I'd clean out a decent bit of our checking account lol

got my floor jack there, best deal for a sweet ass jack.
Harbor Freight is the *hit

subbing to listen to sound, my motor is loud ticking too all the the time, it wont go away and now i have a vibrating noise coming from the bay (bad motormount?)

no i subbed to be able to listen to the sound later when i get home, im at work right now

Well I will go to to Frieght harbor and get that today. If I mind serves me correct it go away after running I think??? I will confirm later today or early in the morning.

Nah, I don't think its going away. It will probably only get worse. You can run the chance of blowing a hole through the block and then have to spend more money. Just a though.

warning!!!

My car sounded like this for about 3 days....got "a little worse" one day, put oil in her to top her off, next morning I blew the motor.

my suggestions would be take it straight to a mechanic and don't leave until they diagnose it and repair it.

Don't be in my, and many other's situation of looking for a new engine to replace the broken one.

New sound clips taken today. I bought a scope thingy, but I dont know what I'm looking/ listening for. I hear the valves chattering but thats normal. Is there anything specific that I should look for? I'm also going to change the plugs as well. I'm going to be putting in pzfr6f-11/stock # 3271 in with a gap of .32 ??? They are the stock style plugs right? Also what kind of oil would you guys suggest to run. Normally I put in penzoil 10w-30. Thats what I've put in all my cars but i didnt know if there anything special that I should be running since its turbo and all...(first turbo). thanks alot for all the help guys....

i listened to the original clip, that is not what mine sounds like, thank God, but i agree that it sounds bad

I wouldn't even run it long. Do you have a friend thats a technician? Hopefully you do, but if not. I would recommend just taking it to a mechanic to atleast just diagnose it. Usually a dealership will charge somewhere from $85-$185 to diagnose it, but atleast you will know what the problem is. If you do you end up blowing up the motor, I found a motor for about $1000. Keep us updated.

200 dollars plus replaceing what ever it is makeing the noise... is still going to be cheaper than a whole new motor

well i at least narrowed it to the side with belt. could it be the water pump? what else is inside the casing of where the timing chain is at? we do have a chain right ?
