those msp... *sighs*

so i get a friend of mine to try out my msp just for kicks.. not much a sport car enthousiast but was curious...

the guy knows how to drive and we go for a ride..
not 10 minutes into the test drive, my friend swerves a few time from lane to lane and goes to about 50 mph into a 35 zone.. a cop appears out of knowhere and gives us "the eye" as in slow down and get a ticket..

my friend gets into a mall parking and hands me the keys and says "not for me"


that was 2 days ago


today,.

my brother in law wants to try out my msp.. he never drove a turbo car but has a beemer so he know what speed and handling is..

takes it on the highway and cranks it to 90 MPH which is a relatively short time.. outta nowhere a cop clocks him at 90 and he'.s screwed.. with a 335$ ticket.. he gives me the keys as he won't drive it anymore.. even though i offered him too

both took about 10 minutes to get into the way of the law enforcement people..


okay, i know it's bright fuking yelow and it's got a big wing in the back.. i never though they could be ticket magnets as much as this..

im surprised i didn't get one just yet with my spirited driving..*knocks on wood*

I get followed everywhere in my car by all kinds of cops. I got 2 illegal window tint tickets from the same officer in the same week. The police love my car. Yellow,big wing,loud exhaust, and a not visible driver is not a good combo. At leats Thats what I think.(dunno)

well everyday when i come home I have to go through a school zone. Well the crossing guard is at the intersection where i turn onto my road. my road isn't part of the school zone but since she is right at the end of it when i turn on my road i usually get into boost and the turkey sounds. well one day a cop just pulls me over on my road, I couldn't figure out why I wasn't speeding, seatbelt was secure. So when he gets up to my window He goes onto explain that the crossing guard says that I have "broke traction" and I constantly come through doing that. My eyes bug out as I try to explain to the officer that I have not done that I don't do that and what she probably heard was the turbo. No ticket though.

i heard that a few msp's around here have been pulled over for exaust.. some have it stock.

some even had a ticket and it was stock... cops are edgy round here with rice cars all ovewr the place racing and kiling themselves..

I guess to someone who doesn't know much about cars the turbo spooling up after a CAI might sound like tires spinning, but I dunno don't think my exhaust helped either.

Lol, that sucks for your friends. I've been really lucky, no tickets in the MSP so far. There are definitly a couple times where I shouldv'e been pulled over but it never happened. Actually today is a good example, I was on a little road trip to pick up some wheels doing 75 on the highway when I round the bend and BAM, there's a cop sitting outside of his car with the gun pointing right at me. There was some other traffic around me so it wasn't like I was the only doing that speed, he didn't give chase though. Probably has to do with color mostly, mine is TI grey, if it had been yellow or even spicy then who knows what would've happened.

i just got another ticket tonight!!!

i have not gotten a ticket in 5 years and now at once i got 3 tickets within 2 weeks

first two were my fault (speeding) and the one from tonight was me following 3 other cars that were in front of me out of a parking lot...turns out i (we) commited an illegal left turn and since i was the last, i was the only one to get pulled over and i got a nice ticket.

over here our system works on demerit points and fines and after 8 points you get lisence suspended for a month and a insurance increase...so lets do the math here..ticket #1 4 points $280 ticket #2 4 points $295, ticket #3 2 points $179...4+4+2= 10points and $754= im screwed and all that within 2 weeks, i dont care about the money much (could have been more upgrades to the car) but the points are scaring me lol

no other car has given me this much trouble with the police ever before(and i have owned quite a few cars), im seriously considering of selling it and if i still somehow manage to keep my lisence (we will see how it goes in court) i will settle for something slower and less flashy..so if anyone in the calgary or alberta area knows of anyone looking for one of thease cars, send them my way please lol

I think that cops in some areas are just dickheads (well most areas)...For instance I have never gotten a single ticket in my home state since getting my license 8 years ago...then i started a job in NJ and within 3 months Ive gotten 9 tickets.

Yea i think i got my name on a city-wide watch list the other night.
I went out play a little bit with the car on a long straight stretch of raised highway at 11.30-12 at night, and there was no one on the road so i mashed the pedal down and went on a quick 40-120mph run, started to get close to the end of that section of road + cars ahead, so i slowed to the speed limit, no big deal. Well wouldn't you know, the genie of po-po's all of a sudden appeared in my rear view mirror. I was going the speed limit at the time, and because i was speeding on a raised portion of highway he couldn't pull me over, but i guess clearly saw i was going quite fast. So anyway, he decides to ride my bumper (literally 3 feet away from me) for the next 11 miles, and when he exits he passes me and shines that crazy-bright spotlight right in my face and almost blinds me. So i turn to go home and call it a night. On the way back i had 3 additional cops trail my bumper home for a total of about 20 minutes. And worse, during the next week every time i got onto the highway i was followed closely by a 5-0. i guess i made a boo boo.... but no ticket.

was goin to work in no hurry doin the posted speed limit (45mph) geared down to get ready and make a turn. the cop coming in the other directionturned onto the road i was gettin ready to get on and whiped infront off me and told me to pull over. told me i was doin 60mph and i know i wasnt. that 3 weeks ago

saw the same cop yesteday when i was goin to the bank he was pullin outta the gas satation when i come out of the bank 5 mins later he pulled in the bank as i was comin out and seemed to be lookin at me waitin for me to do somethin

No tickets yet (knocks on wood). I have a black meca msp though. Plus, I lived in New Orleans for the past 2 years and the cops there don't care about anything inless you are basically killing someone. I just moved here to Ohio, and I see a lot more cops and speed traps. I have just been pretty lucky so far i guess.

THats bad luck, I have the same car in Calgary and I have no tickets since I bought it new off the lot. Where did you get caught?

THats bad luck, I have the same car in Calgary and I have no tickets since I bought it new off the lot. Where did you get caught?

1st was comming from wipress park on may long, 2nd was up in the NE close to speed tech, and 3rd was in the SE at the bulls*** corner (timmies) on a saturday night lol...funny thing is that was my first time at all 3 of those locations since i live in the deep south evergreen area close to Kramer Mazda LOL

oh well, ill go to court and hopefully ill get a break on some of them lol. I even got rid of my HID's to make the car stand out a bit less at night since my last ticket (five-0) (headshake

One messed up night

Only one incident so far... (as many others have I too knock on wood when thinken about it) Bought the car a day before back surgery. After a good amount of time recovering, I wanted to drive it down the road to my friends house cuz it was just staring at me begging me to get in. When I left his house, I decided to take it down the road to the rotary and then head home. On my way back, I just left the 30MPH zone and entered into the 45MPH so I accelerated accordingly (wink) Just then a Cop was coming from the opposite side and spotted me. 11:30 at night and me being the only one on the road and him probably 1 of only 2 cops in the town I was in at the time isn't good odds. After he passed I watched in my rearview and sure enough he turned around and the "oh so pleasent" blue strobes came on. I pulled over and was asked the famous question, "Do you know why I pulled you Over?" Ofcourse "No" was the response. He then tried to tell me I was going an excess of 70 miles an hour in a 30 zone. I was shocked to hear this, repeated it back to him in disbelief followed by "Am I on some kinda candid camera?" He then said, "What, you dont believe me??" Then (and im not joking) He hit his chest with both his hands and then spread his arms out in the air and said "You wanna fight about it!?!?"

At this point im so confused and dont know whether to laugh at him or take him seriously.(huh) He was serious. I should probably add that he was either in his very late 50s if not over 60. So now here I am, with a busted back with a cane and a senior citizen Cop who wants to street fight. After a few moments of silence trying to remember when exactly I entered this alternate universe, I calmly said "No, I dont want to fight, Ill take it up in court I suppose if it goes that far." After taking 15 minutes running my info in his cruiser, which I have no record so I know he was just staring at me hoping Id make some dumb move I suppose, He came back and said, "Three Hundred and Ninety Dollar Ticket...." Then he winked at me and continued.. " IF I was to take you to court." Im now thinking, ok you wanted to fight me, now are you trying to hit on me.. Should I be thanking you for letting me off?? Before he left, he saw I had a pool stick in the back seat and asked, "Oh, do you play pool?" ........ Who at this point wouldnt wanna say something on the lines of, "No it was a Freaken Accessory with the Car!! Ofcourse I Play pool you dumb s***!" I ofcourse just said yes, and uncomfortable conversation ensued from there.

Never fails to amaze about how certain cars are "cop" magnets. The very first post the dude was speeding and should have gotten a ticket. WHat doe the car have to do with anything? Then doding 90 mph..LOL..Once again its not the car its the speed of the driver..You drive it fast. Your gonna get a ticket. If you could get a VW bug up to 90mph you think a cop would just let it go because it doesnt look like a fast car?

I disagree, the fact that this car came factory "riced" with flashy color choices, rims, exhaust and that big ol' wing on the back is gonna get you some attention. As far as what your saying you do have to keep in mind what kind of person is gonna be buying a MSP. Not your average 80 year old grandma that drives 35 in a 60... No offense to all the elderly mazdaspeed owners out there.

hey, watch how you use the word "riced" you can hardly call a stock msp rice. yea, it does have a large wing but, that doesn't make it rice. the bright colors don't make it rice either. what makes a car rice imo is overdone, tacky, cheap, etc. BTW the last time I checked the stock exhaust isn't any louder than any other factory exhaust.
