Ticket for front license plate??

So I was parked near my school after being unable to find a parking space in the lot. Went to class and thought I'd have a good day until I got back into my car. At first I thought it was because the meter ran out or something, but I still had 3 mins left. It was for not displaying my front license plate. Jesus Christ. How many of you have have been cited for this? Or is it just me and my s*** luck? I really want to find out who gave me this, and thank them with a (fu). But that might make my citation a little worse than $25...

where are you from? Ive been right in front of cops, w/o my front plate, and surrounded by other cars w/ front plates (i was the only one, we were doing a photoshoot) and havent been bothered...

i know in va they can be nazis about no front liscense plate, i've gotten a ticket for it before. but now most of the time when i get pulled over they give me tickets for exhuast or tint or my yellow headlights, the plate thing is only if they want to put salt in the wound.

You should be happy yours was only $25. I walked out to my car one day to find (3) tickets for $50 each for no front plate.

there is a simple solution that will make it so you never get another ticket for not having a front plate again. i bet you can figure it out

leave a box of donuts on your hood at all times

I have lived in a few different parts of MD and was in DC 6 days a week for a few years.... been about 4 years since I've worn a front plate and not one ticket.

were you parked on the street in DC?

I'm in Calfornia and in about 30 car/years have gotten one ticket for no front plate. I was stopped for no registration sticker, but when he called it in and found I paid the reg, just forgot to put the sticker on; he didn't write me for that, just for the front plate. I think it cost me $10, or about 33 cents per year.

I stuck the plate on the front bumper with double-stick and drove to the local police station. The woman behind the desk looked out the window and said "is that your car?" I said yes and she signed it off. I drove out of the lot and pulled the plate off again and went and paid the fine.

Certainly different areas have different enforcement. My son told me in Santa Barbara, especially around UCSB, you will get a no plate ticket anytime they see you, even just parked on the curb.

I only drive my car on the weekends, so I got one Tuesday, one Thursday, and one Friday (or something like that)

... and didn't find out until Friday

No idea, but the tickets were stacked on top of each other. I didn't research to see if that's kosher; I just assumed it was.
