Throttle response on a p5

Well to keep my warrenty (brand new p5) I just put a k&n filter in my car, the throttle response was actually different. But on the way home from an auto store I ran over some trash on the road..... Could some of this got stucked in somewhere? The throttle response seems horrible now.

wow.. if so that doesnt sound like fun at all. Did you do a visual inspection at least? Its a good general rule to avoid running over anything. Check under the car and the filter...

Yes I looked under the hood and under the car.... looked @ the k&n .... Not sure how to really inspect the parts that are BEFORE the stock air filter. But everything looks fine..... the temps are fine.... but throttle response is horrible and it seems like I need to give it more gas to get it to pick up and go.

try resetting your ecu. since the k&n filter flows better, your MAF sensor is probably freaking out and causing you to run a little richer than normal.

I did that after I installed it..... what about the trash?

What kind of trash was it? And reset it again to see if it goes back to normal. If it does then its something electrical. If it doesnt its the trash or something else mechanical.

there was a plastic bag stuck on the downpipe on my moms lexus once. it was a b**** to get off. didnt efect performance although maybe it hurt the aerodynamic efficiency a tad

i doubt it was whatever your ran over, maybe its a psychological thing. or something else. Was the object you ran over extremely large and dangerous?

I guess I can reset it again, but i just think that somehow the trash got in somewhere and is restricting Air flow. It flew into my view at the last second it was either a lot of paper or plastic. Nothing to solid looking.

the stock air box comes apart pretty easily...just inspect the inlet under the hood...disconnect by two bolts on radiator...check air box and the juncture in between ...besides that i dunno

Yeap..Stock box..does come out really easy..just disassemble..& check it out..

Shouldn't take more than 1hr..for anyone who has installed an intake!
