- 2012 Mazda5 GS
Well, with a mere 65k km and just 3 months out of warranty, my 2012 Mazda5 decided it needed to visit the local dealership for the first time ever (I do my own oil changes and basic maintenance). While waiting at a red light, check engine and traction lights suddenly both came on, and the engine started idling very loudly. Light turned green, I step on the gas, and... nothing. Turned it off, back on, drove off okay. Stopped and while idling, did the same thing again. Repeat the restart, seemed to be fine, but decided I needed to get it checked. Code P2119, throttle body actuator issue.
Brought it in and decided to let them check out a click/squeak noise every time I clutch/declutch while they're at it. Turns out the tranny mount is broken (I have the 6-speed manual). Very strange, never would have imagined a broken mount on such a new car (and I don't drive hard at all on this one). Oh, and for the above, a new throttle body was prescribed.
The dealership wanted to charge me for the tranny mount until I insisted they check that it's covered under powertrain warranty. For the throttle body, Mazda Canada ended up covering 50% of the part. Still costed close to $500 including the diagnostic fees.
Anybody else have a throttle body or tranny mount go on such a new car? This car is not giving me the warm and fuzzy anymore.
Oh, and when I got the car back and checked my dash cam, I found that the tech took my car to Tim Horton's to pick up some coffee after he was done working on it. Nice...
