like the titile says i've been havin thoughts of trading in my p5 to get a spicy MSP... but what im really concerned with is... will it keep up to the cars comin out with 6 gears... just a thought...

I've been wanting to trade my P5 in on a Speed also. Theres something like 14 black ones alone in the STL area. Been driving around to the lots and checking inventory. Come the end of next month the 2003's should be discounted enough to make a great deal for one. Anyone get a good deal lately on a 2003 Speed (since the 2003.5 came out).

Why???Why???Why???

Just slep a turbo on it and do some suspension work. You will loose a bunch of money on the trade in. Is the car really worth an extra 10k??

Just my 3 cents.

well first ima talk to my hookup in the dealership and see what he can do for me... then ill decide

which 6spd cars are you talking about?

I'd get the MSP if I were you...cool car. Unless you need the functionality of the P5...just don't get upside down on your trade in. I would try and sell it privately to avoid getting ***** by the dealer...

ok and the 6spd cars im talkin about are... rsx-s, Spec-v, and whatever else is out there... but i would wannabe able to dust um!!!!

i'm sure with some good driving you could take the rsx-s and spec-v...

Where's my dealer hookup? Just kiddin'. Can you get the S-Plan (or whatever plan) for the Speed? When I got my P5 with the S-Plan they would'nt even deal with me on the MP3.

Well

My wife has a PR5 and I have a Black MSP.
My dealer would not give me the S-Plan pricing on a MSP.
He did give me a grand off though. I could have bought a 6s
5-speed and saved 3600.00 on the car under MSRP but after the test drive of MSP I said screw it I'm buying this.
So I spent about 19k on my MSP instead of the 20-21k I would have spent on a 6S, 5-speed, with the sport pakage, 6cd changer Bose system, and few minor options.
Good luck and get a deal on the car. I love my stock MSP but I will be getting 220-230-ish to the wheels within a yr or so.
I just want to up the volume a tad. :D
I baby drive it most of the time but every so often I want to fly.

Equivalent of Ford's A-Plan. In summary, if the dealer accepts it, you get the car at invoice pricing. Mazda (or Ford) refunds the money to the dealer.

The nice thing of living in Michigan is that pretty much all dealers around will not say no to you if you have the A or S plan. And since Ford owns part of Mazda, if you have Ford's A or X plan, Mazda will take them as S plan. :)

the 6th gear in most cars is only an overdrive gear anyhow. I don't think that should be a concern at all.

Look, no offense to a P5, I love em, almost bought one, but the MP3 I have, when I get back into a P5 from time to time ( know people with them) there's no comparison between the two (stock of course). I'm trading the Mp3 for a Speed so I think you know where I'm going with this.

But, it all comes down to how much are you going to lose, and only you know how much money is too much for you. Talk to the dealer, go from there.

For me, a turbo kit is about 3 times more expensive then me just buying a new Speed, and I'll still need new tires this year :) So, for me this just makes more sense.

I figured they would screw us on the S-Plan. I just got back from my local dealer and check this out. Still in stock...3 Spicy and 3 Black MSP's sitting on the lot (and I know they've been there a couple months). Also they have one Yellow 2003.5 outside. So the way I see it it's about time for the price of the 2003's to start coming down or at least better APR's for them. And that means one ex-P5 owner and one new MSP owner coming soon.

DO it man! I had a P5 for a year before I traded up on my MSP. It is a totally different (superior) car! Just drive one if ya can and you will become a beleiver. And unless you're one of the "mod happy" type of folk, you get the whole package under warranty!
:)

Giddy Up!

If you can make it happen without going upside down, it's a great choice! Almost 7,000 miles now, and I just can't get enough!!

I Love My MAZDASPEED!!! (k) (k) (k)

I'm thinking about doing the saaaaaaaaame thing. I didn't get a 5spd P5 or even look at the Speed, cause I don't know how to drive stick. Now after driving the Auto-stick, I think I could really handle a 5spd. BUT I've been upside down before & don't think I want to go through that again. Since you work at the dealer though, good luck with the deal...

First of all!!! Learn to drive a stick!! Back in the day; we all learned to drive on a stick. If you really want to experience the thrill of driving, you must shift manually. Then....buy a MAZDASPEED!!

....my 2 cents.

So; what is your favorite IMAX film? SUPER SPEEDWAY, I would hope.
