Who takes their dogs in their MS3? Right now I still have my old car, but am selling it soon, so I'll have to take my dog in my new MS3 (bang). I'm thinking of getting this seat cover and one of those dog harness seatbelts to make sure that little bastard can't move.

I have a 67lb, 10 month old blue pit, and he is happy as hell to ride in the back. I mean all the way in the back behind the rear seat, in the "trunk". I use a blanket to put over the rear bumper when he gets in and out to avoid scratches. Mostly he just sits or lays down on longer drives, and when i am not having fun on twisties. Trunk is just much easier to clean out and he does not seem to mind at all.

I have a pitbull/husky mix. He's almost 11 months old. Putting him in the trunk would be nice, but I'd be afraid he start chewing on something or just totally freak out. He's psychotic.

this is my guy :)

When in the car he is a calm as ever. But he has been riding with me ever since i got him at 3 month, so he is very used to the car. He doesn't even freak out on canyon runs... As far as chewing stuff - i don't keep anything that important in the trunk, plus i think it'll be last thing on his mind to chew something in a moving car, lol.

I just throw a blanket across the back seat and vacuum up whatever escapes. Of course, I am not even remotely anal retentive about my car.

This a good topic, I too am always looking for away to bring my dog (Boxer) to the dog park without too much incident and trauma to the back seats.

Doesnt someone make a formed seat cover for the 3?

I also use my older car for his rides/visits. This is especially important for me because he'll jump in any car with an open door, and sit there (because it's cooler inside a car that's just arrived with the AC on than outside in the shade). He'll do this even if he's just gotten out of his small pool, so a wet lab sitting on your clean interiors isn't very pleasant.

Once I sell my old car, I'll probably use the beater pick up we have to get him used to long car rides, and if he behaves properly I might let him ride in the trunk.

the rubber mat in the trunk area would be a VERY good idea if youre going to put him back there. my lab/shepard rides back there and the hair that escapes off the blanket gets woven into the carpet and is nearly impossible to vacuum out.

I stick my 'Coton De Tulear' in a small crate and put that in the trunk. He rides back there with no problems, even with the rear shelf in place. I know it sounds cruel but when he can't see what's going on, he stays a lot quieter and doesn't whine to get out.

Of course, you've got a lot bigger dog than I do, but how about getting a cage/crate and putting that in the back and having him inside there on trips? It doesn't leave a lot of room for luggage but you know he won't be chewing on anything.

No varmints in the Speed or the 300C, unless it's an emergency. They ride in my truck or my daughter's Camry.

I don't have a MS3, but i got leather seats in my Pro5. and, when i take my dog with me, i just fold the back seats down and lay down a rug. Good to go. Only problem i have now is thier little claws are starting to put little scratches in the tint. Mind you wife and I have 3 7lbs dogs though rather than one big dog

Hmmm.... A travel crate might be a good option if they make them that large. I don't think it would fit in the trunk, but I could fold the seats down. Do the seats fold down totally flat? I haven't even had the car long enough to check the seats out.

I have a 85 pound lab and he rides in the trunk with the shelf removed. I just put a blanket on the floor to keep his fur from getting out of control back there. I think once I get my truck running he will be riding around in that though.

You know I never quite though of the hatch as a good place for the dog! That is probably not a bad idea though. I wonder if there are any pictures of doggies in the MS3 hatch?

My dogs actually like to be ON teh shelf in the hatch so they can see out the windows
