This might be the End

I have a 2005 Mazda3 2.3L sedan. The head gasket is blown and I’m wondering if it’s worth repairing or just getting a new car. I was quoted around 2k to replace the gasket and I’ve had this Mazda for years with no serious problems. Transmission is great car runs smooth. Is it worth picking up a car note or buying a cash car and just scrapping the Mazda or should I repair the head gasket and keep the Mazda 3. I mean I love this car smh

That generation of Mazda is not exactly known to be Mazda's best work.

You did not mention the mileage or the overall condition of the vehicle, including rust levels. that's all critical to know if you are looking for a more informed decision.

I would consider either fixing this vehicle or buying a new car in cash. Absolutely do not opt for car notes leasing financing/ whatever.

I would personally lean towards a new car.

I have seen Skyactiv Mazda 3's for a good price on marketplace. I would seriously consider one of those. They are legendary for reliability.

I agree, mileage and overall condition, including rust, will determine whether putting more money into the car will be worth it. It may be $2k to fix the blown gasket, but what about worn suspension, tires, rubber seals, ATF fluid, coolant, brake fluid, etc.
