This is sad

the msp will never be worth that much i dont care if you sealed it up and never drove it its not as rare as people think

lol 600 cars my color, and a few have been wrecked already ? Yeah its not that rare (dripping with sarcasim here )

Yeah, this dude's a real jackass. I bought my P5 in March at Kings Mazda in Cincinnati, OH they had a Black MSP and an Orange MSP both for under 20k.

yea the car is rare. where else do u see 600 of a car made. not sure how they were distributed but a usable figure would be spread out over 50 states, comes out to 12 a state. thats pretty nice. im sure they arent evenly distributed like that but its the way i think of it :)

I think it might be worth a lot in a few years, it's a very low production car, and it's great stock, just my $0.02 Yeah and that guy is a huge idiot. It's shocking how stupid people can be sometimes, I could get a brand new msp for $20,500 and use the $4,500 to paint it the friggin spicy orange. Some people just amaze me with their stupidity.

Being rare is not enough in and of itself. It's still a matter of supply and demand. There aren't many Ford Pintos around, but they still aren't worth anything because nobody wants one!

Ok, I know the MSP shouldn't be compared to a Pinto, but they aren't exactly flying off the shelves now. I can't see that in 5 years time there will suddenly be a ton of people wanting the car.

Things become collectors items because they weren't expected to be collectors items in the first place. For example, 50 years ago, no one ever thought baseball cards would be worth money so very few people kept them (or at least kept them in good condition). Now that people actively collect baseball cards, there is no way that any card will increase in value over the next 50 years to the same extent that cards from the 1950's have between then and now.

Hopefully that makes sense. My point is that enough people will have MSPs in good condition several years from now that the demand will not outstrip the supply.

The car is worth what someone will pay for it. NOBODY will ever pay over MSRP for this car, not in five years, not in ten years, never. The MSP is a great car, but it is (and will never be) a e30 M3.

I think it is time you all stop being stupid. This car will never be worth anything, so stop kidding yourselfs.

Well its not like the cars a friggin VW thing or rabbit. Stock the car has more nice features (aftermarket wise) than any other car I've seen. And it's unfair to compare it to an m3. I personally despise all bmw's. I think they all look the same except the z's and need to start with a different style. I know lots of people like the aftermarket idea on a stock car just as much as I do, example: everyone that has bought a msp, including yourself. Yes I dont think it will be much more than what we bought it for, but I do think we could get close to it, especially if it's been well taken care of and not to mention 2,000 of them? Common a couple have been totalled already and as time goes by that number is going to go down. Some people buy cars because their rare, and then those who collect rare cars too. If someone is looking at it in that perspective then why wouldnt the car be able to sell for what we bought it for later on? I see more nsx's, porshe, m3's, m5's, vipers, and old cobras then I do msp's. Again, I know I'm not alone in thinking this. But just as you are entitled to your opinion this was just mine.

Used, it's worth about 17 grand. Man I wish they hadn't closed that thread! It would've been fun to mess with Captaindan a little bit. He seemed like such a fun guy to be around! A regular barrel of laughs.
