This has got to be the WORST stock "good" stereo for iPod control

Is anyone else having this issue? I have a 2014 CX5....first off, it takes almost a minute for the ipod to "initialize"...then once it does, even if left plugged in, NEVER starts where it left off. Only starts playing at the first song on the ipod, every time. This is in addition to other issues with Pandora, but I'll leave that alone for now.

Has anyone else figure out how to fix this? Amazing that it's 2013 and electronics makers still don't understand that someone might not want to search through all their songs/playlists EVERY time they start the vehicle. I remember having this issue with an aftermarket DVD player that played MP3 back in 2000-freaking-4.

If you had even browsed the forum you posted in, almost at the top are two whole threads about it

There is no fix. Problems introduced in 2014. Some people claim Mazda has admitted they are working on a fix. All responses to me from Mazda are that 'it's working as designed'. I'm in the process of writing up a long complaint at the BBB to try and force a real response instead of their stock bulls*** answers.

But EVERYONE else is having these issues, and it apparently affects all 2014 Mazdas which use that stereo.

You think a minute is bad, try hooking up an iPod Classic, which takes 20 MINUTES to scan before it will start playing.

The Ford Escape has voice control of iPod devices. Does anyone know if it takes the Escape 5+ minutes to load an iPod/iPhone via USB? I'm wondering if the voice control is a fundamental issue or Mazda just implemented it very poorly.

Rented a Escape with MyFord Touch. It loaded a big play list quite quickly and had no issues. I was even getting album art. I didn't play with the voice controls that much, although I did use them to tune into some Sirius stations. That worked quite well. A lot of other things I liked with the Escape. Been thinking of trading my CX-5 for a 14 Escape Titanium.

I've recently bought a Nexus 7, the voice control on that is amazing it seems to understand EVERY command.

I could get the Xtrail to get me home and phone home using voice, but it wasn't that good.

While the TT seems incapable of understanding virtually any command, its terrible.
