Thinking hard about replacing my MS3 with...

check into gt motorsports and what they do with the 370z. their testpipes showed a 11whp an 9wtq gain on the dyno with their g37. i wwant a 370z and hate 2 seats that car is sexy. i was one of the few people that felt the 370 looked badasss when others thought it was ugly. i love the g37.

And then price the 3 with the same options and you're 10k away...if you need the space get the 3, but if you want a more fun (a little quicker and better handeling) car get the 1.
I think the point he is making is that for a decently optioned 135i, you're only a few grand away from getting into a 3-series.

I think the new Z looks pretty cool, but I wouldn't say BA...it has some kinda weird lines...11whp for testpipes is pretty great(esp. for a NA car).

Genesis Coupe has a lot of potential, the turbo version that is. But, that will not happen due to the lack of aftermarket modifications for it. Besides that, it has a lot of nice features you got to love.

lack of aftermarket support? (confused) 4b11 = a s*** ton of mod support,

yeah, the pricing on that car just doesn't make sense, the 335i coupe looks way better, and has better flowing lines.

I have seen the 135i, I sat in it, and walked around it. It just really looks tiny in person. The tires and rims look huge on that car because the car is small. I don't even know why they put a back seat in there, I don't think any normal size person will ever fit in there. Also, my legs don't even fit in there, I'm not sure why the whole gas pedal area has to be so tight. Overall, the 135i is just too close in price to the 335i coupe, I don't see how that functions as a cheap fast BMW. Isn't that the market they were going for?

Also, where are there 135i for $35k new?

look at these modded genesis coupes (2thumbs)

or better yet, this 2010 WRX STI coupe w/ RWD

No modded cars. Never again. Been there once I am done with it.

Regarding the STI...that is great, but isn't that essentially the same as the Genesis Couple? 300 HP RWD? The Genesis is 306 HP RWD. I suppose the STI might be lighter.... We just dont' know yet. If it is several hunderd pounds lighter, that would one to consider. (Along with the 370z)

I'm holding out for the 6 speed TL. When it's out in the fall, I'll test drive it and if I like it, then I think I'm gonna go back to the TL. Supposedly it puts better times on the track than 335i and 335xi. Another thing is that the level of luxury and technology in TL is incomparable with the bimmers for about 10K less.

That could also be interesting... 6-Spt, AWD and a 305 HP V6....

your wrong here - the aftmark for this car is already huge and growing like crazy...there are several big name tuners ( aaron w/real tune/ hks / buschur racing off the top of my head ) that already have parts for it...so much that it already surpasses the ms3 and the caliber srt in that market.

i vote for the gensis 4cyl coupe...why ? low cost and a ton of pontential...dump 10g's into this thing and see what you have..?

edit you need to keep in mind the engine is shared with the evo ( not exactly the same ) but has certianly helped the cars potential.

I've come to learn that the kseries motor in the srt4 has nothing to do with mitsu except for the turbo it uses which is a mitsu turbo. Srt4 motor is all chrysler.

I like the 370z rims. Give the car a drop and they will look even better.

In the short term the 2.0t gen coupe has the leg up but I rather get the v6 in hopes there will be a twin turbo kit that gets released which I know it will

wrong it's called the world engine and was developed by hyundia in conjuction with mitsu and chrys. to be used on all 3 cars

edit: NM i see you already found the corrected info.

while this is totally true, it's hard to overlook the LS series of engines. they've been around forever, they have a huge following, they make easy power cheap, what you can do to them is limitless, and they've really evolved into a pretty nice engine (though i know import people will say "omg it's still pushrod" but honestly does it really matter if it gets the job done?).

i know where this will go next. "but the genesis is 10k cheaper to begin with. put that into mods and it'll blow the doors off a camaro." there's no denying that, though its daily drivability at that point will be in question. however the OP has stated many times he doesn't want to modify the car. i'd also venture to say a 6.2L V8 is a better starting platform for modifications than a 2.0L I4 so if he does decide he wants to mod some day he'd have a better platform to build off of that could easily remain a DD

i completely agree with you..i only mentioned the put 10g's into it and see what you have due to his budget. the v8 is a good platform too...guess it just boils down to what ever you want and how you want to do it and how you want to look while doing it.

I have been waiting on the new Camaro for about 5 years now. Needless to day I'm a little pissed that it's such a pig. 3800lbs is a lot to push around even with 440+HP.

With this said, I'm still going to hold off total judgment until I can test drive it. If it is as bad as I fear, then I'm not sure which way I will go. Just look at the Challenger SRT8. It's a total Pig. Best time I saw on Youtube was 13.3 which is sad for an SRT8 costing almost 50k.

The 370Z is cool, but like others I need the room (is why I traded in my S2000 for the MS3). The Genesis is nice, but not my taste.

If the Camaro falls through I think I will be looking to get a Roush Mustang. It has good handling, nice power and is S/C'd so I can do some very basic mods and get even more power. The price is not so bad as well.

all cars are kinda pigs weight-wise nowadays. with all of the required safety features, american cars getting bigger and bigger and the fact that everything is "standard" it's kinda hard to find a normal 4 seat car less than 3000lbs. the good cars just make themselves not feel like pigs
