Thinking hard about replacing my MS3 with...

I didn't know Chevy made a TT ZO6. Is that already out?

when chevy was developing the new ZR-1, code name Blue Devil, they tried turboing it 1st. they blew up a number of engines and finally gave up. car would be too much of a monster + liability & warranty issues up the wazoo. they finally settled on the twin-screw Eaton supercharger and 605 hp.

all the car mags were reporting on this a few months ago, now they're doing comparos btw the ZR1, Ferrari 599, Mercedes AMG black series SL65, and the Lambo LP640. most mags are giving the ZR1 the win, esp if weighing in the cost factor. me, i think chevy should have kept at it and developed the turbo, as Callaway did in the late 80s. those things are truly monsters, i believe they were up to 1 thoooooousand hp. can you say 'hand me a new pair of skivvies?'

laffo. I'm just following up on your assertion that you "bet no one" would confuse a ZR-1 for a regular C6. NO ONE. I too also saw the ZR-1 at the DC Auto Show earlier this month and you're going to tell me in that setting that everyone in attendance immediately thought "ZR-1"? Now, try to extrapolate that in a public street setting with the car in motion, surrounded by thousands of drivers who wouldn't know an oil cap from a 710 cap (let alone attend an auto show), and not a single person there would confuse the ZR-1 for any old C6, either?

I am sure some people would.... Who knows in reality how many it would be. After all, 75% of all statistics are made up....
(shady)

they dont. im saying i would rather have a z06 and TT it than to buy a high strung ZR-1.

and i think what kain is saying, just like porsches, most cant tell the difference between vettes and its variants like people cant tell the difference between 911's, or mustangs.

but a ZR-1 would mos def slip pass you and you would think it was a Z06. i can say that much

I hear what you are saying... but since Chevy doesn't make one, I wouldn't want to mod a ZO6 like that.... unless I was rich and didn't give a crap about the warranty.

Are you real shure you don't want to think more seriously about the 370Z (shady)

yeah, 370z is first place in my book, RWD, nice NA engine, looks hawt and seems to be somewhat mod friendly even though it's NA, there is a 10 whp increase with a cat-back. Thats actually really good for a NA engine.

I will probably get a cat-back, some stagg. rims with a nice lip, and that daul CAI's. I'm not looking at doing 1/4 mile passes, so that car would be perfect.

If I was decidedly less practical in my car-buying decisions (or if I owned more than one car), I'd be trading the MS3 in on a 370Z...I just don't think I can give up the utility of 5 seats and a hatchback for a car with practically no useable cargo space and only 2 seats...

yeah, but how old are you and do you have a family? I'm not having kids for a while, and road trips usually I wont take my car, unless it's to the beach.

I don't haul anything in my mazdaspeed3 now, and don't plan on doing any hauling, 2 seats would be perfect for me. Not for everyone though.

I've belabored this point already, but I can't get passed the headlights on the 370z. Everything else about it (looks, performance) is straight-up buttseckz for the money... but the way the front panels poke into the sides of the headlights... it's like a hot chick with a big ol' whitehead on her nose.

have you seen it in person? I thought the same thing about the 370z, the headlights really bother me, but in person, they look like they fit very well. The only issue I had was with the big butt the 370z has, but with a spoiler, it cleans it up alot. Without a spoiler, it doesn't look right.

So what you're saying is, if you could find a big enough paper bag, or turn the lights off, you'd tap the s*** of a 370z?

have you seen it in person?

Yup. I spent a good hour or so walking around, sitting in, opening stuff on the 370z at the DC Auto Show a few weeks back. My opinion still hasn't changed about the headlights. I was hoping seeing it in person would.

i think the camaro is a great choice. once they're out and abundant i'm going to give one a good look. i like the look, can't go wrong with an LS V8, will have tons of aftermarket support if you want it, and should even get decent gas mileage (20-25mpg). the interior looks decent though i haven't seen it in person and it should handle pretty well though it's not a sports car so my expectations are realistic. supplier pricing on a 2SS would be very nice and what i'll be looking for in about a year :)

i'm thinking my next car will be either a camaro or a nicely used G8 GXP (since the G8's used value is awful i wouldn't mind picking up a used GXP for 60% of the price with <10k miles). in the running also are the 2010 mustang and the genesis coupe. the mustang i think i'll test drive but i probably wouldn't end up getting unless i was very surprised on the drive. the genesis i like on paper but it would depend on the drive and how the aftermarket accepts it. i like that it has a lot in common with the evo engine so i have decent hopes for the aftermarket but we'll see. worth a test drive i think, especially at that price. the 370z doesn't appeal to me at all just like the 350z didn't. though apparently that's the SRT4 of 2009.

What? It is a great performance bargain with great cheap mods...for 35k you could get an evo with the same hp, but the 135i has a great interior...If you'd seen it in person you wouldn't think so...

lol, it's way over priced for what you get. It should have start at around $30k than it would fit in better. Plus the shape is awkard, it looks like a 335i coupe got smushed between two pickup trucks.

I saw the new Genesis Coupe on Westheimer the other night with manufacturer plates on it...it was Black and the V6 an sounded pretty damn nasty actually...I like it...

Why would you want a TT Zo6 over a ZR1? It would be more expensive, about as fast, but with the Z06's handling(hard to handle at the limit). The ZR1's handling is great and it's a very livable dd. Check out the Road and Tracf or CD test...

actaully i have seen this black one a few times and its hard to tell the difference between it and a z06.

only way i knew it was a ZR-1 after seeing it was that i thought "damn chrome wheels are gay, whoa, the z06 doesnt have chrome wheels and theere was the lame glass panel on the hood"

im a car guy and it was hard for me to distinguish it from a c6 Z06.

rather have a TT Z06
