totally agree.
See my post above about the massive price difference.
totally agree.
Thanks for the input everyone! Some comments:
Regarding the 370Z --- Yes, it is fast, but I really don't like the look that much, and I owned a G35 (that I had supercharged), and I have been there and done that.
The G8 GXP has 400HP and weights as much as the Camaro. The Camaro is about 3800 pounds (600 more than my MS3), and is pushing 422 HP. I don't know what others have been reading, but if you do a little research "they" are saying is is going to do a sub 5 (albeit not by much) 0-60. I hardly call that "slow" as someone posted.
I really do like the 335i, but after you tack on just a few options, the car is sitting at $46K. That is 10K more than a top of the line loaded Camaro. Granted... I know they are different styles of cars, but it isn't like the 2SS isn't loaded with some nice technology features as well.
I ruled out the Genesis Coupe because the 3.8 V6 at 306HP just won't motivate it any faster than about a 6 second 0-60. And before any one says it, that is not the most important thing (acceleration) to me. I simply just don't want to step down from my MS3 in that regard. Looks, features, price, reliablity, and practicality are all equally important along with acceleration.
I think you might have misread something. Addressing your points:
1) True. But define a decent deal. I don't mind paying near MSRP for a car in certain cases
2) Who cares? Nobody buys a sports car, much less a $35K car and worries about gas.
3) This is standard on all versions of the 2010 Camaro.
4) For the top of the line 2 SS Camaro, with every option except a automatic transmission (RS package, sunroof, white stripe option, 20" polished wheerls, etc.) the MSRP is $37K. So I am not sure why you think a $35K would "Bare bones." I personally don't want a sunroof, RS package, or a white stripe package, so mine would be $34,650 --- and that is loaded.
i didnt see really any similarities between the k-series motors and mitsu's maybe im wrong but can you show my how the k motors and mitsu motors are truely related
ford, mazda volvo share motors between platforms. what car is a kseries motor in besides a dodge, show me what mitsu motor is in the srt4 or caliber
i know that the gen coupes are using mitsu motors
Where the Hell are you pulling this "K-series" business from??
The 2.4 liter engines used in the Caliber share architecture with the Mitsubishi 2.4 liter 4B12 engine found in the Outlander and Lancer.
Dude, you're talking about the Neon SRT4/PT Cruiser Turbo engine, which is not the same engine that's in the Caliber SRT4...
The engine that was originally mentioned (and which shares it's lineage with the 2.0 liter turbocharged Hyundai version) was the GEMA engine that is offered in the Caliber SRT4, not the old "K-series" SRT4 motor that was in the Neon SRT4 and the PT Cruiser Turbo.
oh my bad, i didnt noticed the "non-boosted" part. i was talking about the srt-4s engine

[looks around] gentleman? ME? i wouldn't buy a NEW Z06, you can pick up a 2007 w/ <10k miles in the high $40s.
2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Badass car.
Sorry, I just can let it go yet...
THE TURBOCHARGED CALIBER SRT4 ENGINE ALSO SHARES PLATFORMS WITH THE MITSUBISHI 2.4L NATURALLY ASPIRATED VARIANTS USED IN THE OUTLANDER AND LANCER.
Could I be any clearer?
Yeh, it's alright. Nonfunctional hood scoops, and a true muscle car(No Handling capabilities).
I thinks its a much better retro representation than the lil bow tie offering! With 425 hp/420 tq you do not need ram air effect. Definitley a muscle car that has been refined a bit. I would not call (Skid pad performance of 0.88 g) exactly poor for handling.
I saw a test last Sunday on the speed channel comparing the 2008 & 2009 SRT8's driving on the salt flats, racetrack and strip. It was at home on all courses. Its much more than raw muscle.
