Thinking hard about replacing my MS3 with...

I would rather get a factory turbo set up than risk it or spend 7-8,000 on a twin turbo set up.

My guess would be a supercharger is available before the twin turbos. But do they even have tuning options on it? It has been available in Korea since October so hopefully they have gotten a jump on figuring it out. Without a tuning option the V6 could be sitting in the dark for a while or be forced to go standalone.

dis regard my other post, the geneis coupe v6 is more gangster. , a twin turbo kit on that would be sick, proly be putting down 400 or so easy

get off it the genesis is going to be a heavy korean hunk of s*** its being compared to the mustang which in its own right is NOT a real sports car... like all the rest of the ******* korean cars the only reason to buy one will the warranty

if you think a twin turbo genesis will be good just imagine what a twin turbo 370z will be like...

My biggest problems with the camaro though

1. Have to wait at least a year to get a half decent deal.
2. That is alot of motor, so it is going to suck up alot of gas.
3. The independant Suspension option on the SS is not cheap, and its a must have or else all that handling stuff you were talking about being important to you, you might as well throw that out the window.
4. Once it's said and done, $35k for the bare bones SS, high insurance, and high gas bill.

I was looking at putting money down to get the SS, but I don't think it's going to be everything that it's hyped up to be.

I think you might have misread something. Addressing your points:

1) True. But define a decent deal. I don't mind paying near MSRP for a car in certain cases
2) Who cares? Nobody buys a sports car, much less a $35K car and worries about gas.
3) This is standard on all versions of the 2010 Camaro.
4) For the top of the line 2 SS Camaro, with every option except a automatic transmission (RS package, sunroof, white stripe option, 20" polished wheerls, etc.) the MSRP is $37K. So I am not sure why you think a $35K would "Bare bones." I personally don't want a sunroof, RS package, or a white stripe package, so mine would be $34,650 --- and that is loaded.

Agreed. It will be a beast. GT motorsports as already made a twin turbo kit for thr VQ37 on the G37 and it puts down 547whp and 502wtq only pushing 8lbs of boost insanity to say the least.

Put that kit on the 370z and that's a true beast

I agree with you there... Like I mentioned earlier, I had a supercharged G35 that was putting down about 380 WHP. Not as much as you are talking about above, but still pretty darn good.

My point is that I want to stay with a stock car. I could mod my MS3 and probably get over 300 whp. Others have done it. I have gone through the misery of warranty issues, expensive repairs, and limited service locations. No more for me.

I want a car that hauls ass (preferably with 400+HP) stock out of the box.

Go with the challenger or jeep srt8. They run mid to low 13's. I don't like the challenger or camaro really but if I had to chose id take the challenger. The design is much cleaner. The camaro is way to busy and looks clumbsy. Now if the camaro looked like the proto in transformers id say "go for it"

I've come to learn that the kseries motor in the srt4 has nothing to do with mitsu except for the turbo it uses which is a mitsu turbo. Srt4 motor is all chrysler.

I like the 370z rims. Give the car a drop and they will look even better.

In the short term the 2.0t gen coupe has the leg up but I rather get the v6 in hopes there will be a twin turbo kit that gets released which I know it will

Actually, I'm pretty sure there are non-boosted versions of the SRT4 Caliber engine in multiple Mitsubishi models...

Wait until the 2011 Mustang has the 5.0 in it putting down 400hp/400tq and call it a day. Its lighter, has a nicer interior, and should be a little cheaper.

based on my research there arent. they are all k-series chrysler motors now. not 4g63, 420a or any other dsm motors anymore

i assumed they had mitsu motors as well

if passenger room isn't a key concern, i'd go w/ a C6 Z06. nuttin' faster on this side of the Atlantic, and you can buy it now + used. i'm sure some vette owners are hurting for cash and you could probably get a great deal...

Bottom line, get what you want and enjoy. Opinions are a dime a dozen. Post pics of what you finally decide on... (burnout)

Nope.

They are all based on the GEMA Engines developed jointly between Chrysler, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai.

The Mitsu and Dodge versions are roughly as similar to each other as the Mazda and Ford versions of the 2.0L and 2.3L MZR (or Duratec, if in Ford trim) engines.

I will do that... I am looking at making this change around the Fall.

As far as the gentleman who suggested the C6/ZO6, that is great, but I was hoping to stay with cars in the 30K - 40K range, not the 85K+ range. If I was shopping at those prices, I would get a an Audi RS4 or an S5. They are both about the same price.

[looks around] gentleman? ME? i wouldn't buy a NEW Z06, you can pick up a 2007 w/ <10k miles in the high $40s.

I priced one with options, and you are actually looking at 53K or 54K for one with 9,000 miles. That is a good 13k+ above my 30K-40K price range.

i didnt see really any similarities between the k-series motors and mitsu's maybe im wrong but can you show my how the k motors and mitsu motors are truely related

ford, mazda volvo share motors between platforms. what car is a kseries motor in besides a dodge, show me what mitsu motor is in the srt4 or caliber

i know that the gen coupes are using mitsu motors
