The Wife's New Fuel Sipper!

:
2008 Mazda MX-5 5MT PRHT
So last night, I got rid of my last Mazda. So, no more Flying M's in the driveway. It's a barely used, 2011 Chevy Cruze Eco 6 speed MT. The sales guy was actually the one who ordered it for his A to B car (as his other cars are an older Jag, a Corvette, and a Range Rover). He added some options that aren't factory but nothing too crazy: fog lights and a lighted door sills that display "Chevrolet" in blue. All in all, we're happy with it because we can fit 4 adults in comfortably, my wife can fit her nanny kids in there, she gets 42 mpgs (we've been averaging 38 with my driving), and I get the knowledge that it's a manual and not an autotragic slush box with "manual autostick." This sucker is a 1.4l turbo and it can move when you need it too. Anyhow, here are the pics we took.

Certified Pre-Owned! Woot for Warranties! Only 15k on the odo.

Awww yeah. Looks good from here. Apparently they borrowed the LTZ lowered suspension for better aero and less drag.

Sorry for the off-center ness. I was just getting a few quick snaps.

Actually, each model is a turbo EXCEPT the base model (LS) which is a 1.8l NA. All others are 1.4l-T. They're contemplating bringing the turbo diesel model stateside which will boost the Cruze Eco's 42 mpgs to closer to 60 mpgs. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for that sucker.

They are super nice cars... GM is starting to turn things around with their newer models. I haven't seen any problems from any Cruzes at work yet. Congrats!

Nice car! Hey how much did they whack you for it if you don't mind me asking??? My girl is having a baby soon i'd like to get her this exact car....lol really just want a relatively new car that is safer than my 2000 Protege DX with 180,xxx miles and something with AIR CONDITIONING....lol

Well here's the figures. They had it "listed" for 18k. However, online, it was "specially priced to move at 16,500." We traded the 2005 Mazda6i with 101k miles for 4,400. So, out the door we paid 13,500. We got a 72 month for around 220 a month. We, however, won't be paying for it for that long because we always pay more a month and ahead (we just did that in case times got tough and we needed a lower payment).

Still, 13,500 is like Kia Rio prices. For it being 1 year old (barely) and only 15k miles... I think we walked away with a steal.

I agree with the Chevy comment. I am renting a 2012 Toyota Corolla LE AT and it feels... base model. I'm somewhat embarrassed that my X-Runner shares DNA with that Corolla.
