The stock Potenza RE040 tires are SUMMER tires!

i think that anyone that has an MSP should automaticly know that these tires are not rated for the summer. It's obvious. The only thing that people should write is were to find winter tires at a good deal, not to complain that they have bad tires.

Wrong...it SHOULD be obvious. Most sports/performance oriented cars are equipped with summer tires. But people simply don't read the manual, or make the assumption that all-seasons are on it, or something along those lines.

People will ignore every obvious warning...it's in the brochure, it's in the manual, there's a sticky thread here, there's dozens of posts here...yet we STILL get 'what's up with the MSP in the snow it sucks!'

Truth is, these questions (and all the other repeats) will always be constantly asked, especially by new members. It's a fact on any message board, on a whole, people don't read the FAQ's.

I'm from orlando and i'm going to Indiana for two weeks(they're expecting snow today and i'll be there tomarrow) my problem is i'm on Yokahama Parada Spec 2 tires...i'm wondering if anyone has these on there msp up north and what kind of problems or fun they are having

i hear there's a whole other section for this kind of talk

Dexter is right, the problem is over now, but I forsee the next big snowfall anywhere, and we'll get more. Like, it's amazing poeple even thought they could drive in the snow with these tires, LOOK AT THEM, barely any real tread, alot of flat surface. Let's thing back to kindergarden, kids with boots, with all sorts of knobs on them could run on snow, kids in running shoes couldn't.....people with snow tires have some control in the snow, people who don't, don't!!!

getting back to the topic, snow tires. dunlop Graspics are on mine right now and it gets around just fine in the Ice & Snow.

$92 / each at tirerack

It'll be the best $400 you ever spend. The service writer actually took it out for a ride in the snow when the replaced the door sensor switch. He was happy too.
