The Real Reason To Change Your Front Console Leds!!! (56k Haha)

Lookin thru the kick ass how-to's i decided to change my led...so I Blued it out!!!


this is when the fun starts...

so I ran down to radio shack and grabed some of these

After going thru the guide it looks like this

this orange plastic is what makes the console orange
just pop that off

here are the led's

atleast i had my nails trimed in that one, none engine work day


the two bulbs in the middle need to be replaced too..

it's the 194 replacment, the plastic on the led i alittle large on the side and needs to be trimed, but it's easy it's soft plactic.

and then BLAM Blued out!!!

What year is your MP. I have a 2001 LX and was thinking about doing that cuz mine arfe green and I want blue. I bought about 100 Super Blue LED's, and 50 Ultra Violet (Black Light) LED's from Japan cuz I am going to go crazy inside and everywhere with them. Also what did you mean by the Defrost Fix.

When you turn the defrost on it automatically goes to vent (wont let you do recirculate) and turns ac on even though ac light is not lit.

To take everything off , replace the leds, and put everything back, about an hour.... it would have took less time then that if i wasn't watching the laker game

awesome work, but i would've left the red for the temp selection so it doesn't stop halfway.

it ruins the whole blue look, but to me, it looks incomplete without it.

That that's the only thing. the red is there but faint.... too really get the entire blue effect i have to replace the to middle bulbs

These bulbs by standard are just plain clear bulbs, to get the red to shine brighter you would have to keep the clear bulbs and find blue plastic

Mount a single red LED to light up the other side of the temp control.

As in my guide I did mine all red, and installed a blue control for the temp control.

Nice, I was wondering how easy this would be to do. I am not all about the red illumination. I know some people think red illumination is great, but red and I do not get along. I changed everything in my other car to blue LEDs, and everything outside both cars to superwhite (LED if possible, or bulbs if necessary). Good write-up, and thanks for trying this first and letting me know it worked out well. Also, thanks to whomever suggested not going with Radioshack LEDs. I have gone through so many of those. I have SuperWhiteLEDs.com bulbs all over both cars now, with no problems. So I am sure there individual LEDs for projects are fine also. Thanks again!
