well I sat here for a while and read the whole article...and it all boils down to this....our car is more comfortable than the rest, our car is better looking then the rest.....and although not the HOTTEST performer...its in the top of the bunch....

in the words of C & D "The Verdict: A sports car in station-wagon clothes."

what more could you ask for....it looks hot, it drives hot, and its a useful vehicle when you have to make a trip to the store.

:D

wow, thnx for the article, now i have to pick up a car and driver, and show it every friend, (including one who just ordered a matrix).

Good reviews, bad news

I agree. Our cars rock. All the publicity and good reviews just confirm that. However. With all the good reviews and recommendations people will be flocking to their Mazda dealers to pick up a P5. I don't know about you but I kind of like having 1 of only 4 P5's in my area. Just my $.02

Some of my favorite quotes from the article...

For those who haven't read....or have read the article already...

Suzuki Aerio SX: "...well, face it, Suzuki is cruising for ugly tickets with this one. There's no disputing that point."

Pontiac Vibe: "It's a "sports bus," quipped one tester. The steering brings same-day response and jaunty roll angles."

Ford Focus ZX5: "The front seats are torture. Ford has done a thorough job of it, complete with a dial-a-pain crank down low at the front, allowing you to tune in that backache just the way you like it."

Toyota Matrix XRS: "This is a rackety engine, changing from whoops in the power zone to thrums when you lift for engine braking. You get to shift a lot, too, or be left in the dust by Gramps in his LeSabre, and he's not even trying."

Mazda Protege5: "We talk a great game. We invite you along on an in-depth evaluation of a new class of extra-roomy carryalls, then what do we do? Right, we fall in love with a low-roof model offering the least interior space."

Oddly enough, I couldn't find anything funny about the PT cruiser. But here's my own personal quote. "I think they ugly." :D

yes...almost brought a tear to my eyes when i read this article...just brings a smile to my face reminding me that i chose the right car...no wait wagon...no wait vehicle...anyways yes the P5 may not super high hp or big interior space but it's the BEST all around performer...and when i read the road & track article that pitted the MP3 against a ferrari and elise...it made me smile even more...

i especially like the comment about the engine being too loud...doesn't bother me...it's music to my ears...

happy driving...

I had actually heard about that from no one other than my dad...i think he loves my p5 more than i do....lol...

OurP5, too late for me now. The city I am living in has lots of p5s. I swear I can see on average 4 yellow p5s everyday on my way to work and back, and i only live 7km away from my office. Darn...:)

Thats too bad LambOfSilence

I live and drive all over Orlando. I have seen 1 Midnight Blue, 1 Clasic Red, 1 Vivid Yellow, and 1 Sunlight Silver Metallic (and that is only after some chick at work saw my blue one):D How about that! I'm a trend setter. Woo-Hoo

I kind of like being one of only a few as well, but, let's face it, everyone is going to want this car. Sometimes I think of taking off the badges just so that no one knows what it is and has a harder time buying it! LOL, but at the same time, I wish a couple more people would have it locally just so that we could get together and have car meets. So far, I've just seen a couple. One was driven by this old lady who gave me a dirty look when I honked at her! She just didn't get it...

Oh well, thanks for the article. Interesting read!

First P5 in Lima, Ohio

I bought the first P5 from Lima's Mazda dealer back in June 2001, but I saw another Red one in town the other day. It was parked so I walked over to it. Had a babyseat in the back, so I know it's a parents most likely.

I also saw a black one awhile back, but I wasn't in my P5 to honk or anything.
