The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

so true this would have never happened....

unfortunately, no, Taters. : ( Aja left us in 2008 and Kenya in 2010. Miss them both : (

I know it's been a few years, but sorry to hear that. Them were some awesome dogs. Wish mine would behave like they did. You ever think about getting more, I couldn't imagine my life without my puppies.

:( I'm jealous, I want to run it again. I did just buy a radar detector though to save myself from an even more expensive ticket.... One more ticket and my insurance drops me lol

I had to run into Brecksville to do some stuff so I took it there and back. :) I didn't go crazy, because I don't a ticket. Or, even worse to run into one of the guys that was out cutting grass. It's a busy park on a nice day like today.

that's the thing, 'fun runs' are pretty hairy and nerve-wracking for the lead car (usually me at the Mohican Fun Run) ... you have to be on the look out for cars, people, deer, wild turkeys ... over blind hills and turns. once the lead car gives an all clear over the radio, everyone following behind can then proceed to have fun! luckily we've never had any major damage ... to anyone paying attention!!! (not mentioning red rover)

I know what you mean when I led the mini fun run on Saturday. Luckily, I know those roads like the back side of my hand. I got a little nervous when we passed that bicyclist going the other direction. Glad there wasn't a whole group of them!

marc and I came up to a honda pilot and I wasn't on him or anything nor was I going to pass him on those roads but at a little pull off area he pulled off and waved us by and waved as we went by because he knew what we wanted to do. I waved and was pretty impressed

I think that's pretty common in the parks, someone did that to me at lunch time today. They just wanted to go for a nice slow cruise, so they just let me by.

But yeah, call me lame but I like to do my fun running well within the limits (of me and the car, not necessarily the posted speed limits :)) when on public streets. Too many potential variables in play that can make a fun day considerably less fun. :) Even with lead car clearing the way, that isn't going to stop a deer from springing out of nowhere after the lead car passes by and messing up your s***. :) And, particularly in the parks, there isn't a lot of room off the road if something happened.

But, I learned my lesson the hard way when I was having too much fun on some back country roads and ended up in a cornfield. I was extremely lucky that I messed up on the particular turn that I did because all the other ones had trees lining the road. :)

Edit: I used a lot of smiley faces in that post for some reason...

haha I almost got caught this last weekend. I slid into the other lane coming into a turn too hot. But luckily nobody was coming and learned my lesson to watch the signs and what they are saying.

I am going to be getting a room for mid ohio and have two queen beds with three people so far I think we could fit another person if sho is cool with that if anyone in interested

It's never fun finding your car's limit on a public road!

On another note...I've come upon a strange phenomenon I'd like to call the Harbor Freight effect. Every time I go to Harbor Freight for 1 or 2 items, I always end up leaving with 10 times more items! I stopped by there at lunch to get a magnetic screw holder and a 100pack of gloves ($9 total)....I ended up spending $110 LOL

haha you just replaced your whole garage spending 110 at HF! and no kidding scared marc and I both because he did the same thing

That's why I don't go to HF stores anymore. What usually happens to me is I go with a coupon, and for some reason it doesn't work.

I seriously get 5 emails every week with new coupons...on top of that, they mail me a coupon catalog every month! It's insane LOL. Today, I used a 20% off coupon (had to spend $100 to use it) so I saved a good amount on top of the already discounted prices.

I like HF for some stuff, but my grinder died last week and my 3/8 air ratchet died after a week of use. I'm going to buy some decent quality stuff for those items.

Speaking of tools, I was tearing apart my old, blown KL Saturday night and this was the water pump. Yummy...

I had to unsubscribe from that crap. I would seriously buy stuff I don't need. I still have tools from there I've never used. Haha.

This is why I love autoX. Your are usually around 50-70 mph and it is easy to relate that to the curve road. My problem is lifting off the gas and the my back end like to kick around. Just a little to stiff in the rear end for public roads and the 600lb spring rate is way overkill on some of the roads that aren't so smooth. My MSP has the effect of a stone being skipped over water when that happen and it isn't very fun. The fun run Marc and I did last year was great. I would love to do that route again, without the spinning out of course :)

as long as nobody hits anything its all fun. I just never knew how much I like messing around on the curves of a back road. Now I know why Marlon always said since the day I started coming around was suspension first power second.
