The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

There are plenty of cars in autoX without a roll cage and these guys run at nationals. I'm pretty sure you need one when racing against others in clubracing, but not during a solo event.

For autos you dont need anything. But for track days you need the "proper" roll bar setup. The harddog is nice, but the rear support is not attached in the "upper third" of the bar, so SCCA banned those too.

I guess I'm stuck autocrossing until I find a hard top... but autoX is actually very fun, so I'm not super upset or anything...

since I'm taking off my lower tie bar and seeling it to Evan I thought I could easily take off my 4 point ladder bar and sell it too. Of course nothing can be that easy and one of the bolts is blocked by the ladder bar after it hit something and bent (see below). My question is since even though it's still 100% functional could I sell it for enough money to make it worth taking it off or just leave it on?

I saw something today I've never seen before. Solar cars!! Two from university of Iowa in Ravenna. Guess they're in a race... 2012 American Solar Challenge - Rochester, NY to St. Paul, MN - July 6-22. They went from Ravenna to Wooster in EIGHT hours lol...
