The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Got my car aligned at White Wheel today. I'm no alignment expert so I would say they did a fine job. $94.82 after tax and everything.

Front:
Camber: -1.5 degrees (Left) / -1.6 degrees (Right).
Caster: 4.0 degrees (Left) / 3.3 degrees (Right)
Toe: 0

Rear:
Camber: -2.6 degrees (Left) / -2.1 degrees (Right)
Toe: -0.1 (Left) / 0.01 (Right)

I wanted the camber in the rear at -1.5 but don't have the adjustable camber arms to make it possible...yet. Plus after driving the car with 0 toe, it almost feels like it pushes more than normal. But I still have to drive it around more than just the one trip home from Cleveland.

glad to know im not the only one with goofy rear camber specs haha

i have adjustable camber links set both to the exact same size and one is .6 degrees different from the other one when i got it aligned haha

So after doing further research would the MSP be in DM or EM. Confused a little a little about that. Prepared classes don't allow belly pans, but modified do. So modified it will be,just don't know which one. I'm use to being in STX for the last 2 years that I've memorized those rules and really don't know much about the modified classes, time to cram some info.

Pics of the seats? Does the bolstering actually work? The 2 seats feel great until you hit a corner... It's very odd !

I would definitely invest in some camber arms. They'll help pull everything in really nicely.

Is that worth hopping to a Mod class though? Especially if it does nothing at low speeds (which... really doesn't). R-Comps & the like...

...unless you're the only car in the class, then it really doesn't matter until you look at PAX.

What kind of alignment are you running?

That's not an awful price Will. Hopefully they did a good job!

That's good to know! I think they did a good job. It's about as close as they can get it to what I asked for.

It's on the list :)

Not to mention how low it will need to be in order to get below the rear subframe. You would have more problems driving around than the slammed guys, and really just because you think it looks cool. Don't forget about heat issues as well because your exhaust will be above the flat bottom and you will need to allow air to flow above and then back through the flat bottom without affecting the airflow you developed along the flat bottom. If you think you need rear downforce, you really need to put on some type of wing or spoiler because the diffuser won't be doing anything for you, but considering it is a front wheel drive car at autocross speeds, the more rotation you can get the better you will be so I would suggest against that. I learned with trying different configurations on my car that a wing greatly improved my braking, but cost me time in the corners because it caused the car to oversteer less than I would like, and if set at too high of an angle could actually induce understeer.

Wow, that's an awesome deal, Levi... Damn you. haha

i just want em to go to a home where they wont collect dust

i mean they are no racing seats but the bolstering is pretty good, i have a CG Lock with the stock seats right now and dont really have issues of sliding around much at all...

id have to check the sheet again, i know everything was back to stock spec EXCEPT there drivers rear camber... camber was like 2.2 on the pass side and 2.8 on the drivers side haha

I understand both of your points and just trying to find the best class for me to fit in as of now with the mods that i have and what else has been done to my car. I was mainly just throwing around the idea of a flat belly pan, splitter, and diffuser idea. I still might make the rear diffuser for s**** and giggles for looks, but it will be detachable or on another bumper that I can swap on and off. GS (hell no for stock). I can't be in STX any more because of the FMIC, radiator, and a few other things that have been done in the last couple weeks. I need to put my stupid washer fluid bottle back in, which is stupid when it lets you take the nozzles off for aftermarket hoods. Oh well a rule is a rule. I guess I can just use them to spray my intercooler. DSP is a no go. Modified and Prepared classes have some sick s*** in them and allow some crazy stuff, but don't allow things like in SMF. So SMF it is and let the fun begin. No belly pan I guess, but I did find this,

"Front hoods (engine covers), engine covers, trunk lids and hatches
not containing glass, front fenders, rear fenders not part of chassis
structure (unibody), front & rear facias, and side skirts may be
modified or replaced"

Which mean I can modify the bumper facia to incoporate some diffuser styling. That works for me! Thanks for your guys opinions and inputs.

Got the exhaust and intake manifold put on finally

Marc beat me to it!

I'm pretty sure I have a couple books here at the office of simple electrical if you ever need anything. I have a few books at the house too, but most of those are text books. Just throwing it out there.

I have my Navy Electrical and Electronics Training manuals floating around. They can teach you anything and everything about electrical stuff.. E=IxR n s***.

Power factor and stuff too? My book kinda sucks with that.

Neat. Thankfully I don't get into the super detailed information on that, like sizing the switchgear and MCC and stuff.
