I think it was a combination of the old board failling into disrepair, people trying to move around dates to get the most people together, and nobody wanting to take the lead on it.

The "you pick next" thing was a good idea because it allows people to set up meets in their neck of the woods instead of a central locatation. For example, I'm thinking the Winking Lizard about a mile from my house is a GREAT location, but you guys down in Akron probably disagree
