The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

wut up peeps, who else is working sick today?

oh, and my ABS doesn't work... MSM + lovely weather + no ABS = interesting drive, every time

ABS is overrated ;) I'm not sick but I have a migraine headache, so that is awesome.

I'm thinking about installing a CP-e triple gauge pod in my Speed3. Ideally I'd like boost, oil pressure, and air/fuel ratio. From my first bit of research it doesn't look like this is going to be the easiest thing to install. It sounds like the air/fuel needs a new wideband sender welded before the 1st cat, and the the oil pressure could potentially be spliced into the existing sender. Anyone have any experience, thoughts, comments, on doing any of this?

Eh... starting to get a sore throat, but a lot of that is due to the change in weather. It started earlier in the week and drags on for a few days.

dude, I just sold my pod and gauges (no AFR)...

yes you need an extra bung\sensor for the AFR, comes with the gauge but you need to take the downpipe off or get a new one. For the oil pressure, you can;t tap into the existing one since it's a on\off kind of sensor. You'll need a spin on conversion kit and a sandwich plate to install a new sensor. The install is not that bad, I can give you a hand when you decide to do it

Hmm...not too excited about the sandwich plate/conversion kit. What gauges did you have (brand/type of gauge)?

prosport gauges: oil pressure, oil temp and water temp. why not excited, wanna leave it stock? worried about oil filter clearance issues? I don't remember if you can tap into an existing plug for a second oil pressure sender, but you should be able to install a "splitter" to keep the stock one and add the new, some turbo kits do that for the oil line going to the turbo. I still have the sandwich plate if you want it

Yeah I don't really mind the stock cartridge filter. I'm sure it's just my paranoia but stacking a couple adapters on top of each other doesn't sound ideal. And I have about 5 OEM cartridge filters sitting in my garage :D

lol, I get the paranoia stuff. If you wanna keep you stock stuff then you would have to do this:

this is your stock oil filter housing, it'll be easier to do this if you take it off. The spin on oil conversion kit replaces this part with one from a ford engine, so it's still a "stock" part

add the "splitter", the green connector is your stock sender

end up with this

this means that your pod would have AFR, oil pressure and water temp or boost. oil temp would be hard to fit without the sandwich plate.

That doesn't look too bad. The sandwich plate would have a fitting for oil pressure and temp?

did not, but did see a delivery truck driving towards downtown.

I heard an ad for it on the radio this morning. I completely forgot about it though.

The wife wanted to stop by a bar and have one "just cause we could". lol

I'm....whatever, about it. I'm not a big drinker anyway, and I think it's definitely going to lose it's appeal before long. The thing that made it SO good before, was the rarity of it, since you had to bootleg some from PA.

We're going to a beer tasting event this Friday though, I'll probably nurse one there between samples. :D
