The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Sorry I meant Engine Hoist. I have a engine stand too, but for some reason I was thinking about that instead of the hoist when I was typing. Your more than welcome to borrow it if you'ld like.

Mine is only 15 minutes away. Not that hard to get back if needed.

Justine- congrats on the classroom and all the excitement! You're going to make a great teacher, fo sho. And that girl in the video is adorable. She was on an episode of "Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia" that I like. Post pics of the room when you're done decorating. In here or in your FB.

Will, that video was amazing. What a chowderhead. What was he thinking? But good thing you got it on video.

Corey, that makes more sense now. Haha. I won't need one for another month (I are too poor to buy the motor yet). Plus with the gas money and a truck to pick it up I might as well just buy my own. I did some cleaning/arranging in the garage and I think there will be enough room for my own. If that's cool with Phen and Ivan, of course.

More randomness; I could be going on a 1-1/2 week tour with a friends blues band if we weren't short handed here at work. Having your dad as a boss sucks. It's okay for a co-worker to take 2 weeks off and lay off another employee to short hand the shop and drag their feet hiring someone in like Wes. Sometimes it blows working in such a small shop. One person takes a day off and it screws up everything. I would've loved to be on the road playing music, staying in hotels, eating out and getting paid. Boo.

^^^ lulz.

Ps- nice driving, Will. :)

Thanks! Those stupid Porsches actually slowed me down at times ;)

Holy cow, you Miata is gorgeous. I'm so jelly..

Thank you! :D I had a couple people notice in the paddock and ask me about it. Which I guess is saying something when there are 25 $150k+ GT3's around. It basically convinced me to not turn it into a Spec Miata.

Shoosh.

So I finally got my Caterham R500 this morning. I'm so excited. I can't wait to drive it...

It basically convinced me to not turn it into a Spec Miata.
Oh god, please don't turn it into a Spec Miata. It's just too clean and gorgeous to destroy... And I hate the way those Miatas sound. haha

I hate the way SMs sound too. I was talking to a corner worker and he said what SMs lack in power they make up for in noise.

I think I just need to buy an already prepped SM and return the current Miata to stock-ish. That way I don't have to deal with racing seats in my current Miata on the street and if something happens to it I won't be too terribly broken up about it.

^^^ Whew, I'm glad you agreed there. A lot of Miata guys get upset when I saw that they sound terrible. And that corner worker is right. But that's the same with my car so I can't really talk s***. haha

The beginning of my convo with Jay at Andrew Racing today.

Jay: "Andrew Racing, this is Jay"
Me: "Hi Jay, I was referred to you by Marlon Sumlin"
Jay: "Oh, you must drive a Mazda"

Lol I got a kick out of that...

^^^ That sounds like their slogan.

But be careful when using the Godfather as a reference, Conrads said they were going to charge me double when I told them I'm a friend of Marlons. haha ;)

I have absolutely no idea. He claimed that he had a pass signal from the Boxster in front of me (he changed his tune after I showed him the video). He then tried to say that he was going way to fast and couldn't slow down, but I think he tried to pass that Boxster on purpose. I don't think that he should've even passed me, I gave him the pass signal before I shifted into 5th thinking that his 944 Turbo would be able to get by me no problem.

The 944 got the worst of the damage, but neither car were very bad. The 944 had a big dent and some scratches, and the Boxster only had some scratches.

I was in the White group. This event was with the Northern New Jersey PCA, so they use a color coding system. Black = Most Advanced, then White, then Blue (runs with white but has an instructor), then Green. So technically he should've known what he was doing.

Obviously the 944 driver is an idiot, first off to me it seems he did not knkow the track and was way off line, this is a HPDE event, not a race correct? What was he thinking, as it is up to him to make sure the boxster saw him, as the had the proper line. He should have been sent home for sheer stupidity.

It was indeed an HPDE. He was not sent home, I saw him on the track later in the weekend...
