The Liberty's had an i4 diesel option, but I'm not sure if it came to the states. If it did, it was only available on the super expensive model, which in my mind, defeated the purpose. It still put out 160hp and 285tq.
Valid point, but there are some incredibly fast trucks out there.
At first I was upset by the naming of the engine, since in testing, it didn't get any better mileage than the big motors, but when not under load, it does do better. It's almost as capable as the 3/4 tons towing capacity wise, but I don't think it would be as comfortable with a big load. It would take a while to pay off the 4k$ option for the engine in gas savings, though...
The Liberty was here for all of one model year. Sales flopped. Americans don't want diesels because they're noisy and stinky. Plus more horsepower is always better...
