At first I was upset by the naming of the engine, since in testing, it didn't get any better mileage than the big motors, but when not under load, it does do better. It's almost as capable as the 3/4 tons towing capacity wise, but I don't think it would be as comfortable with a big load. It would take a while to pay off the 4k$ option for the engine in gas savings, though...

The Liberty was here for all of one model year. Sales flopped. Americans don't want diesels because they're noisy and stinky. Plus more horsepower is always better...

but those trucks also sacrifice most "normal/neccessary" truck functions too so its a trade off...

s*** i seriously would LOVE to see the cx5 get a diesel (stateside).... im not getting my hopes up but to me that would probably be the final push for me to get one when its time to replace the 3...

Diesels have vastly improved so much in the last two years. For example, VW Golf/Jetta diesels are cleaner running than their gas counterparts. Plus the torque band on diesels is awesome. If I don't get a GTI, I would get a Golf TDI with the DSG and swap parts on it from the GTI as well as do the TDI Cup Car reflash. That would be awesome.
 
I'm with you man. I'm absolutely pro-diesel. I miss my Rabbit diesel. It's the rest of America who are opposed to it
 
take my car to the shop today so they can do their estimate and schedule it to get fixed.

And for those you of smarter than me, which is all of you, since my plan is to run the Haltech as a piggy back, wouldn't it be pretty much the same as running a SSAFC? I know I would lose launch control feature (not sure if I would use or need that) and the abillity to go standalone later (but plans have changed). I ask cause I might be able to trade someone and get some cash on my end but not sure if it's really worth it in the end. Any input is welcome, Thanks guys

Are you saying trade your Haltec stuff for an SSAFC?

If so, then yes. You'll lose some features that you may or may not use, but when it comes down to it, the most important thing is to get the fuel squared away.

If it's the other way around... then you can always add to the Haltec system, IIRC.
