The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I don't know what they do either, I noticed them on mine when I changed the bushings last year.

Well my to do list for Audrey just got longer this week. I now need to make her baby friendly...I'M GONNA BE A DADDY!!!

A daddy? Congrats Nate. How far along?

Good news. I am so happy that Jenny is pregnant, we had given up on the idea and BAM! Um, were you trying to get pregnant?

ps- Wes, why not just leave them on? They aren't hurting anything. And Josh has done all my welding and he does a good job. And he's cheap.

Hmm, I just googled "sway bar stopper" and I guess that's what it's called. It prevents the sway bar from sliding sideways while one side of the suspension is under load. When the bar itself gets loaded up, it does its job, and the car stay flatter. Here's the thread I found, for anyone who's interested.

Now I need to track down someone with a welder... Edit: I didn't read far enough to see the budget hose clamp mod. Might as well try that first!

Had I seen this earlier, I would have answered your question for you. Yep, that's exactly what they are, and I recommend leaving them there.

If anyone is bored I'm playing da bass with my good friends The Uncanny today at The Burning River Festival in Cleveland. We are on the main stage at 6pm. There will be lots of Christmas Ale on hand for you beer drinkers. As well as plenty of other foods and beers. It should be a good time!

Congrats Nate! That's a big step.

About the limiter bushing on the sway bar, it's designed for the Contour (I got it off of one), but on the 626, the bushings are held too far inside for the limiter bushings to do anything helpful (evident in the second pic).

Ps. Good luck at your gig, Evan.

Well that's kind of crazy. Congratulatons dude. Now you'll have a helper for the Camaro.

Thanks guys! Evan that seat will look right at home in Audrey, and Nick by the time the baby can help I might have the funds

Yeah, when I first saw them, I was a little confused on the spacing until I remembered that it was a Contour bar. Current locations will do you no good. If you could have someone weld new ones closer to the actual bushings, that would be a good idea.

Would welding on the sway bar have any ill effects, with the heat making it "weaker".

I wouldn't think so. If I were doing it, I would tack it with very small welds, waiting a good while in between welds to let it cool. I mean if you sat on it and went all the way around the stopper and got it cherry red, it probably would, especially if it were a hollow bar.

Does anyone know what the max number of title transfers you can have per year (in Ohio), and if they limit it to just cars, or are trailers included in that, too?
