The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I feel like starting s*** with the slammed guys today (laugh)

Agreed on both counts. That white 3 posted up with 7 series wheels?!?!?!?! That ******* thing looks like someone gave a blind man a torch and a lug wrench and said "Make it fit." ****, I don't even have 7 series wheels on my 7 series.

I'm waiting for somebody to post the white 3 with the bmw wheels in the funniest pics of rice thread.

the Bavaria is the predecessor to what is now known as the 7 series

amazing how big cars have gotten when you think about that

Correct. The original 7 series is the size of the E46 3 series.

just look at the 3 compared to the protege, or the old civics compared to the new ones. And I have a brochere about my 75 camaro being a sport compact, I laughed when I saw that. (it has almost a 6 ft. hood and barely fits in my mom's garage)

Quoted from Car and Driver, the 3 isnt THAT much bigger

"The wheelbase, common to both body styles, has been stretched to 103.9 inches, 1.1 inches longer than the Proteg and among the longest in this class, a plus in the ride department. At 176.6 inches, the new five-door is 6.1 inches longer than the Proteg5. Height remains about the same at 57.7 inches, but width has been expanded two inches, from 67.1 to 69.1, and there's a corresponding gain in front and rear track dimensions: 60.2/59.6 inches for the 3 versus 57.7/57.9 for the Proteg5."

the 3 is decieving then except for the hatch compared to the 5

So, I found all the specs between the 2011 MS3 and my 74 Bavaria... The Bavaria is only marginally longer, lighter, narrower, and a little shorter than the MS3...

1974 Bavaria 2011 740i
Curb Weight: 3263 lbs 4344 lbs
Length: 195 in. 199.0 in
Width: 68.9 in 84.0 in
Height: 57.1 in 58.3 in
Wheelbase: 106 in 120.9 in
Track (F/R): 56.9 / 57.6 in 62.4 / 65.0 in

So... some of the dimensions aren't that much different... but throw the MS3's specs in the mix...

Weight : 3272 lbs
Length: 177.6
Width: 69.7
Height: 57.5
Wheelbase: 103.9
Track F/R : 60.4 / 60.0

The 74 Bavaria is almost a foot longer thanks to its crazy large "park bench" front and rear bumpers.

I can see it now. The Bavaria parked in a suburban park with birds all over the "park benches". For having the same lenght almost between the Bavaria and the 740i the contrast in wheelbase is crazy different.

Is the weight of eveything in your 74 included in the 3263lbs. :) If not they probably weight the same.

I did some thinking about summer and winter tires today. I was thinking about Bridgestone Potenza RE760, Dunlop Direzza DZ101 and Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 for my summer tires and either Bridgestone Blizzak WS60 or Dunlop Graspic DS-3 for my winters. Any recommendations or ideas?
