The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I just shot Evan #1 an e mail to see if he can get the owner of the tire shop near LMS to see if he can get them to give us discounts on mounting and balancing tires as well as custom alignments for us racer types. I said racer, not ricer types! I think we can have a meet at the shop and a cookout at the boy's place as well.

That would be awesome!! I still need to mount my snow tires, I'm kinda late as I see snow outside :( LOL. I'm thinking of just going to that shop, but I can't remember what it was called or the number to call. It's probably in this thread, but it would probably take forever to search through the thousands of posts HAHA. If anyone has it, I would very much appreciate the info :)

Looks so purrrty Pablo! It's stainless right?

Yeah- I'll look into it. I just dropped off my winter wheels there last week and they are super busy with everyone buying snow tires and such, but I'll go in a couple weeks and see what the manager says. They aren't a "performance shop" per se, but are super nice guys and always took really good care of my care and asked what specs I wanted for my alignment. When i dropped off my orange winter wheels the tech helping me load them into my car asked if I wanted some neon green valce caps for them too. haha

Thanks Evan!

Gave Leipold a call and at first they said the earliest they could do it was December 9th....but I didn't word it correctly. When I told him the wheels and tires are a separate set and I don't need to bring my car in, he said bring em in whenever you would like and they can work on them whenever they have time. You were right, they are VERY busy haha. I wish I brought them with me to work today!!

Yeah, they are super busy. I asked when they could get Tessa's car in there and it wasn't for a week. But I always just drop off the wheels, that way they don't need the lift. My winter wheels were leaking air so they fixed the beads and remounted them for me for $60. I dropped them off Wednesday after work and picked them up Thursday after work.

getting a weird thunking sound from the front, can't tell if it's my tire or brakes yet. better not be the wheelbearing since i just replaced it. Gonna call the shop the did the work to see if they'll look at it for free since it's snowing now

I'm debating between 2 things....

Buy a PS3 so I can play GT5 and virtually race
or
Save my money and get coilovers...and race in real life

Decisions, decisions, decisions!

i dunno, GT5 is very addicting... the problem is you will enjoy it more with the Logitech steering wheel, they controller doesn't cut it. I wanna get one so bad, but I is broke again :(

Pablo, do you know anything about the resonator delete on the speed3's? I've read that it doesn't really affect performance at all, it's a sound mod lol. I've seen videos on youtube and it sounds sweet after the delete.

Basically, just take it to a shop to have them cut out the resonator and replace it with a straight piece of exhaust piping?

Do it! I want to hear it, because I am doing mine in the spring...hopefully I can do it here at my house, especially if my uncle is around who knows how to weld. I just want it to be warm first!
Resonators just deaden the sound--I don't even believe they change the tone. So cutting them out gives you the same sound, but louder.
Going rate at a shop is about $40 per resonator.

Don't spend your money on car video games. Especially when you could be spending your money on the real thing. Video games are addicting, I started playing Phens Forza3 game since everyone has a boner for the GT5 but I personally wouldn't spend $250 on a PS3 and $60 on a game. That's a lot of money... But it's your cash, brotha! (buy the coilovers.)

Chippy:
$40 isn't too bad actually. I might just take it to a shop depending on how long it would take. I can't go 1 day without Victoria lol. Does that price include parts and labor? Also, I guess I could do some research, but do you know if this will cause and CEL's or any issues? I wouldn't think so since it's only purpose is to quiet down the exhaust sound.

Also, I think I read somewhere that there's actually 2 resonators?

Evan #1:
If I drive 5000 miles in GT5, I pay $0 in gas + Possibility of dropping out of school and no friends due to video game addiction
If I drive 5000 miles in Victoria, I pay $600-$800 in gas + plus $30 for an oil change + wear and tear on the car (tires, etc)

Either way, it's could be expensive LOL!!!
