The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Hmm... interesting predicament you have there....

Ya, I'm looking at the manual & parts list right now, but I'm not sure if I'm seeing it... I replaced the t-stat in march. There's the t-stat housing that holds the t-stat w/ gasket, and then doesn't that just bolt directly to the block, or is there another section that the t-stat housing bolts to which in turn bolts to the block? It looked like it was leaking from about 1" behind the t-stat housing... I'm getting a little worried looking at parts list, right now... I don't see another gasket where I saw the leak. maybe it was just bubbling out of the t-stat housing gasket? crap.

At higher pressure due to temp, that s*** will find a small hole and go anywhere it can. Likely, it's the T-stat gasket.

Ya, it looks like there's another piece/stem that the t-stat housing bolts to, and then that piece bolts to the block. I haven't been able to find a part number for any gasket there, tho... I want to just replace both of those gaskets @ once, to be sure. I would guess they'll be about $3-$4 ea... I'll take a closer look on my lunch break; hopefully it seems pretty obvious, then.

hhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllloooooooooooo!

ok fine, ill give in... hahaha

I just replaced my thermostat last month and got a new one from Autozone. I asked for the gasket too but they said it doesn't have one. (Of course we know it does) but he pulled up a gasket that his all knowing, all powerful Autozone computer said I needed. Though I just needed the t-stat gasket. But I'll bet that's the gasket you would need in this case. Autozone probably has it, just make sure you know what you're looking for because those clowns don't know jack. Good luck, mate.

Levi, she looks so mean driving down the highway. I really love the way your car looks and sounds, no BS. My next car will probably be a 3 so it's good to know they can look mean as hell. Well done, sir!

Oooh, I think camo would be better than just OD green.

Actually, that would be kickass. Do they make it in OD green though? Or just that sand color?
