The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I watch a lot of movies, listen to music and always have a book next to me to read. I've also become a pretty good gardener around my house. I'm also been into firearms the past several years. Don't own one yet but my brother and I can talk about guns and ammo for days.

lol, Peaches! +5 to you.

Also, thought of you when I saw this pic on le Chive.

If cars aren't your #1 passion, what's a close second? What are some of your other hobbies? Collect anything obscure or have any weird hobbies?

(I'm ******* bored at work...)
Things I do
1. List making. I make a lot of them. (see below)
2. Cars - Obsessing over parts & tools for the Camaro and Wagon and buying Hot Wheels. I count car magazines in here as well.
3. Stocks - I figure I need one hobby that helps pay for the others
4. Watching sports, movies, listen to music. Need to find a good record player, I have a decent record (the vinyl circles) collection.
5. Day dream
6. Nate Fest

Things I'd like to do or do more of
1. Ride my bike more, be more active
2. School - it's basically a hobby at this point
3. House projects
4. Rehab furniture
5. Read more books
6. Auto-x

Things I used to do
1. Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey, NASCAR trading cards
2. Play Station
3. Briefly inherited a bottle collection but my brother sold it.
4. Toy Trains
5. My mom went Beanie Baby crazy so I have a ton in my basement. Maybe they will pay for Kennedy and Carter to go to college one day?

I've have 5 since 2000

1. Nokia 5110 (stolen) - 2000
2. Nokia 5110 as a replacement - 2000-2002
Both pimped out with orange covers

3. Sony Ericson Walkman W350i - 2002-2012 Had some pieces missing like the bottom flipped part but worked perfectly

4. Motolrola Razr - 2012-2014 Wanted something better for pictures of Kennedy
5. LG G'z One - 2014 - present

I really dislike the LG and have recently thought about switching back to my Razr. It freezes 4 times a week minimum and I have to restart and/or take out the battery.

The G'zOne is made by Casio, sir.

Sorry ;)

Hmm... hobbies...

1) Playing Guitar
2) Buying guitars
3) Looking at my guitars and wanting to play them just before I walk out the door to do somethign I don't want to do
4) golf
5) cooking (tho I don't do that much anymore... was on a kick for a bit then lost free time)
6) beer... even though it doesn't like me back. I wish I didn't like the taste so much, I wouldn't be tempted to feel like s*** for a couple days afterward.

Speaking of guitars... number 20 should be shipping on July 31st...

I have been in neither the 3 or the 6 but I would venture a guess the 6 has more room in the back for kids and their gear also a larger trunk/storage area for kids and their gear. IMO the 6 is a better looking vehicle.
Comparatively the 6 is bigger than the 3 but both are on the small side in their respective classes. Either one will be an improvement over what I have today. The biggest concern in that department you already brought up; making sure the trunk is big enough to fit a stroller. It would also be nice to not have to move either front seat forward to fit a rear-facing car seat.

Obviously the RX7 is a clear #1 hobby. My real second hobby is keeping the house together: cleaning up, yardwork, fixing broken crap, building/upgrading stuff, etc. The only real hobbies I've been able to maintain consistently this year are gardening and playing soccer. I like to grow peppers and I currently have 8 varieties growing and right now I'm in-between the Spring-Summer and Summer-Fall leagues. Other stuff I'm "into" but haven't really been able to maintain are: firearms, video games, guitars, and building models.

Currently my only hobby is working absurd numbers of hours a day.

I do enjoy firearms, and plenty of shooting sports (clays, long distance marksmanship, pistol bowling pin matches) but I don't get to participate this year.

I do hunt. I'm trying to do more year round hunting but didn't get to make that transition this year like I hoped. That and now I'm restricted on weekend hunting since my wife now works every other weekend, which will cut my duck season in half.

I also enjoy electronics, from basic circuits, to networking, to programming. It's always easy to start a project and see if you can make something happen.

The actual size of the trunk on the 3 was good sized, the opening was too small. At least for our 3 wheeled stroller. I think the 6's trunk opening could be nearly as small but then again we didn't even look at the 3 or 6 since we were in the market for an SUV. I assume you are looking at sedans, since trunk space is important. As far as moving the front seats forward for rear facing child seats, I am pretty sure the CX5 would have enough room to not have to do that. I can even sit my long legged self in the back and have room to spare.

As far as the whole hobby thing goes. I watch racing of all types, riding mowers, cars, planes, motor boats, motorcycles, etc. I enjoy sightseeing, mainly waterfalls and covered bridges but I do enjoy the scenery along the way. I used to hunt and do clay shooting but sold all of my firearms to pay some bills back in the day. There are several other things I'd like to do but time and schedules don't allow.

We have an "off-road" three-wheeled stroller with tubed tires but I've only tried to fit it in a car once - the 2, which required some level of disassebly. I have no doubts about its ability to fit in the square hatch of the Flex or the cavernous trunk that my wife's Jetta possesses. Since Ian's walking we don't typically take strollers for short trips anymore. For longer trips we have a collapsable plastic one and that's what'd need to fit. I'd also have to confirm our old rear-facing Chicco stroller would fit for whenever #2 comes along.

Sedans and hatches are mostly being considered because I'm cheap/stubborn and want a manual transmission. Even though Mazda's new ATs are getting good reviews the MTs are still ~$1000 cheaper, ~100 lb lighter, and more fun to drive. The only CUVs that offer that are the Forrester Premium (poor fuel economy) and the CX-5 Sport (low power, torque, and few features).

Of course, all kidding aside, I really like your new Miata a lot. I like the rattle can flat tan, the matching soft top and choice in parts, mods and wheels tires. And dat price! I'm jelly.

gramma can't drive

you can co-drive on sunday if you want

after the alignment (and height adjustment) its rubbing a bit in the front, need to figure out against what so see if it needs to be reaised

What wheels/tires are on it? There's really only 3 places it would rub. Top of fender (chassis = too low/too big OD tire), fender (too low/too low offset/too big of a tire), chassis in the rear of the fender well (not enough offset with too wide of a wheel/too much steering angle - height of car doesn't really come into play here).
