The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Ill come out to see if I can keep up to the new red thing

That's the spirit!

I'm likely going to get beat, and that's fine (considering I haven't autocrossed a FWD car since 2008), but we all know it's in good fun, and it's being used to try to convince others to prove me wrong.

FWD FTW! With a rear sway bar that thing would rotate like a mad man having that short wheel base. Might need stiffer springs though unless you want to end up like the Smart...
Honestly I don't know that much about the Arbarth's suspension setup.

Haha yeah I mean I am much bigger but maybe I can keep up with you! The post that guy made on fb is nuts about the power some people are cranking out of those 500's

he posted about the suspension a couple pages ago, seems like the car is setup with awesome juice all over it

Front has FSD Koni dampers on stiffer and lower springs than a regular 500. The FSD dampers have 2 settings, regular and Sport mode.
Rear has stiffer springs and lower than a regular 500 with a 22mm rear sway bar. It's a twist beam setup.

In addition, regular 500's are not allowed to autocross, like the Smart. The Abarth is classed in G Street. I need to dig a little more into the rules to see if they are allowed to run stickier tires or not in another class. That could be a limitation due to rollover tendancies.

Bonuses are nice. I'm just surprised my federal return was deposited today. I submitted last Wednesday. Since when has the federal government been quick for anything.

Woo-hoo! Now buy a car with it! haha -xoxo

I probably wouldn't want a car I could buy with it. It's not that big (twss), just awesome and nice to be recognized for my efforts.

Very true. We used to get pretty nice bonuses. Then we got a new boss. He starting manipulating the budget how he felt it was necessary, and I'm learning now that it was highly focused in a couple directions and designed to keep the younger engineers down. Hell, the guy I'm teaching and is supporting my contracts is a job level above me because his boss (prior to department merger) wasn't a ******* prick. I went from big bonus to enough to go to Taco Bell to nothing. No raises either. Only way I could make extra cash was to go overseas. New boss now, and she reviewed what went on and is pissed about it. I don't expect an instant adjustment to where I should be, but at least someone else knows how badly our department took it up the ass for 6 years.

That's not right. I believe the younger engineers should be supported, and acknowledged when they do a really good job. Doing what one can to keep them down and almost penalize them is beyond bulls***.

And that's why our group has lost 8 both young and old engineers (and 1 tech designer) in those 6 years.

Yeah. Coming from a company who has (many less now that they've retired) a lot of guys with 35+ years in. Turnover is not common here. Unfortunately, it has been due to layoffs and such, but there are a number of folks who could tell you how they got cut and were brought back later on.

I wouldn't touch sticky tires on the Fiat, lol. It's still a little high even being lower than the normal 500s IMO.

Have you seen the underbody at all? I can't seem to find any pics. It seems like the front and rear may have a little aero action but wasn't sure about anything else
