The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I'm still all about the CD's! Over 200 punk/alternative/rock/etc. CD's and counting. That's something like 2500 songs and the sad part is I still have only managed to fill like 10 GB of my 5th Gen iPod (30 GB).

Actually, now that I think about it I'm pretty sure I've never downloaded a single song from the internet...

thanks! i used to use mIRC back in the day...this sounds much easier!

It is much more user friendly than mIRC ever was. (yes)

No need to buy movies anymore either. ;)

Lol, I rarely listen to the radio or cd's. Probably haven't listened to a cd in my car since high school...

I haven't even really dl'ed much in the last 18 months or so, but I think I have roughly 6500 songs on my desktop pc. Used to have a lot more movies too...

it would be nice to download new music...i hear a song i like and i always want to hear more from the band, but i'm too lazy/broke to go buy the cd...'cause what if it sucks?! :)

i keep trying to unsubscribe from this thread and it's not letting me...it's driving me nuts...i got a droid x and i don't need to be getting notifications in my email every time someone updates this thread

i'll have to check it out because i can d/l it on my droid...i had been using slacker radio and i've been happy for the most part with that'

i think i figured out the subscription thing...it was automatically subscribing me to any thread i posted in...so i'd unsubscribe, then post something, and i'd be back to being subscribed again

Even when you click "Unsubscribe" in thread tools, then re-subscribe with no notifications?

So I was killing time waiting for a body work estimate and walked across the street to the Mazda Dealership to check out some a few MS3, MS6 & a MS NB.

Test drove the 2004 MS Miata... It had a Flyin Miata exhaust, FM intercooler pipes, a BOV, boost gauge, roll bar, & I'm sure more. The sales guy was pretty cool, I had him grabbing the door handles a couple times, haha.

Phen, I see why you love that car. It was a blast to drive. Was building boost really quick and the rear end will come out in a hurry.

I haven't downloaded music from the internet. I've bought a couple albums from iTunes but I'm just lucky enough to have a lot of friends who have great taste in music and borrow from their hard drives. The local public library is also a great place to borrow cd's, load them into your iTunes and return them, all free of charge.

I hate the radio. Well, other than NPR in the morning for classical. I'm super particular when it comes to music. I'm a bassist, so it's tough to find music where my instrument of choice isn't simply some pretty boy playing 8th notes on the root. Ugh.

i used to dabble with the bass. i sold just about all my gear over the year or so, since i havent really played since getting married....

but i totally understand where you're coming from Evan. my musical preferences are usually heavier or grunge rock, and i have noticed there usually isn't a ton of talent at the bass. i just like technical music in general, so it doesnt really matter where the talent is coming in (except vocals. vocals are useless)

as far as bass goes, i really appreciate jazz bass

and flea rocks :)

Aaah yes, I bought Jon's amp. I remember now. (Is it bad that I forgot?)

Early RHCP are really good. But I stopped listening to them after "One Hot Minute". It sounds like all the new albums all sound the same and they ran out of ideas. But yeah, Flea is pretty badass. And apparently one hell of a jazz trumpeter too!

Here's a game I like to play;
What cd/album on your iPod is currently in your car, alarm clock, at work, listened to last. And be honest.

Jon- I didn't know you played bass too?

Last full album listened to:

Beach Boys - "Pet Sounds" while riding this morning.

Heavy Weather-Weather Report

Flea and all of the original RHCP's went to my Alma Mater Fairfax High school and yes Flea started out on the Trumpet. They actual went to school with my younger brothers and sisters.
