My ex was full filipino and his mom was auntie baby to everyone , and his uncle was uncle boyet..his nickname was jingjing, and everyone in his family had nicknames that I dont remember how to say. His mom and dad were both full and they came over back in the 60's so his dad could start his medical pratice. Very good people, and after being together for over 3 years , I miss being around them now

Time to revisit this thread. I just came back from Manila 2 weeks ago. Man I do not miss the humid/hot weather. Of course being the end of their summer..it was still 30C most of the time. Never dipped below 25C at night and I think it must've hit 40+ a few days. It was disgustingly humid as well. I had to take at least 3 cold showers a day to cool me off. LOL. I had a good time though. Ate a lot of lechon paksiw, dinuguaan, more lechon, jollibee's, duck misua, etc etc...

So much has changed. Everywhere you go, there's a new mall, and new restaurants. Went to Makati (Greenbelt 1-3). Checked out a few bars/clubs. Went to Greenhills, bought a few pairs of knockoff shoes at a knockoff price. I think that's all anyone can do in the city is eat, shop, sleep and shop some more.

Anybody been to Boracay Island? That place is da bomb!! It's off the hook! I loved it there.

i wanted to go to boracay during my spring break and actually had plans to go...but PAL had a screwed up airplane that they had to cancel the flight twice...ended up missing the flight to boracay since i was only staying in the pinas for 1 week...we ended up getting there on tuesday and leaving on saturday...suck...

Haven't read the thread yet but... when I lived in Japan one of my best friends was British, half Filipino.

And I spent a week in the Philippines on vacation. Against what the car rental company told us, a friend and I drove a Toyota Corolla from Manilla up to the Filipino Alps (forget their names) we started at Bac Ha and Sapa and went towards Banaue (maybe I'm getting those backwards). Awesome trip, ragged the s*** out of that car.

Ibaraki-ken, about an hour north of Tokyo. Nice location, sort of quiet and in the country but I could hit Toyko every other weekend easily. Love me some Tokyo. Where's Yokosuka?

Taught English for a year there. Should have made it two.
