Okay....I just finished installing upgraded speakers in the P5. I replaced the stockers with Rockford Fosgate 5 X 7 FRC 3257's in the front and 6 1/2 FRC 3206's in the back.
AS MANY a person has stated, the back spacing/clearance in the front doors is in fact 2 5/8 inches....that is the actuall distance from the face of the door to the window when its open....so if you have a speaker whos depth is 2 1/2 inches...you are good to go.
the REAR doors are a whole different matter.....they do NOT have 2 1/2 inches clearance.....they have nearly FOUR AND A HALF INCHES!!! you could put monster speakers in there!! here is a pic of the rear door and the end of the tape is NOT touching the door skin...and YES the window is open...and NO its not even close to the speaker hole! so....in conclusion...you could put just about any speaker you could find in that rear door that will fit though the hole.
