Kimi's on pole. Shades of Schumi all over again?

We can only hope! I am a bit worried though about this gearbox problem that Massa had. It broke going over a curb? Not exactly confidence inspiring.

On a side note, was it just me, or is it really wierd seeing Kimi in all red and Fernando in white? Its gonna take some getting used to. Actually, come to think about it, Kimi, as white as he is, looks a bit like a pimple dressed in all red.

Any other F1 fans out there hiding?

Well Hobbs and Steve were talking about how fragile the internals of the gearbox were, so I don't know. It is weird to see all the new combinations and I am still getting used to the all red Ferraris this year as opposed to the red/white combo they had last year.

I was thinking the same thing about the Ferrari's livery. It took me about 5 mintues to realize that they don't have the red and white anymore since Vodafone jumped ship to Merc. Its okay though, Ferrari's are supposed to be red anyways!

As an Italian, I've got one thing and one thing only to say about what I've seen so far:
VIVA LA SCUDERIA FERRARI!!!

1st and 16th. Not ideal, but hey, we got one on Poll baby!

EDIT: Y'all hear that a week or so ago Montoya took out his new teammate in NASCAR? I just thought that it was worth mentioning that he's still a loose cannon. Great driver, but unpredictable and generally has 1 foot (his right one?) over the edge. The NASCAR guys in my department loved him and wouldn't listen when I explaind why he 'left' McLaren. I love 'Told ya so' moments :p

FORZA FERRARI!!! Was keeping up with it on liveupdate from formula1.com since I'm at home for springbreak and I don't have the speed channel here, :(.

I did see that race. I will admit that up until he took his teammate out, which is in his typical style, he was driving briliantly and showing those reneck bastards what road racing was all about! And then he crashed into his teammate... lol

Can't wait for the race tonight!!!

so massa didn't even make the race?

Well he got knocked out in the second round of qualifying because of a transmission failure. Apparently the new quick-shift trannys are pretty fragile and he hit it too hard. He'll be starting 16 though, most likely on a one-stop strategy, or a 2-stopper with a short second stint on the soft tyres (since they need to use both compounds during the race).

i need to start reading about F1 during the off season instead of waiting until i hear the announcers talk about the new rules during the race...

looks like alonso will put McLaren-Mercedes back on the map

Wow, didn't think of checking formula1.com. Thanks for the tip. I'm too cheap for cable or a dish, but do enjoy formula1. I just catch up with it a week later when reading Autoweek.

not if Louis Hamilton shows him up. Montoya is good, but more times then not he becomes dirty in deperate situations. I remember an incident at Spa a couple of years back in the Bus Stop that invlved him and Schumi......

If McLaren will put a car under his ass that will last a full race distance....

Well, I guess that's the real trick and also why Kimi is sittin in a Prancing Horse. I'm in my Ferrari garb now (Shirt, Red Wig / Hat) and waiting the start of the pre-race show. 3 hours from now!!!!

I'll be talkin to you all... Forza Ferrari!!!!

Kimi from flag to flag!!!! The start of the season looks great! There was a lot of good racing and from the get-go it could be anyone's championship. I can't believe Hamilton did so well: He's gonna be a force to be reckoned with!

Forza Ferrari!!!!! Go Kimi!!! Go Massa!!!

Any other comments on the race?

no. I woke up really early yesterday and ended up passing out on the couch about 15 minutes b4 the end of sebring :(. It's probably better cuz I'm up at 5:00 this morning for course setup @ the autocross.

Read the articles on formula1.com, and going from 16th to 6th ain't too shabby from Massa.

Please tell me you weren't actually wearing a wig and hat in front of the tv. Please...

Okay... I wasn't actually wearing a wig and hat in front of the TV...

Well, maybe I was... lol I did have a bit to drink last night before the race though and I did have a few people over for it, so you can't REALLY blame me...

LOL
