Heres the story...

Me and two of my friends were out in my friends 2000 Saab Aero which is not slow by any means. Anyway we are driving down a street and theres a pick-up truck that had a sticker on the back that said, "POWER WITHOUT TRACTION IS LOSING." Well i saw that i thought that it was some dumb ricer or something of that nature. We drove up next to him and proceded to accelerate very fast past him...haha... all of a sudden we hear this pssshhhh go flying past us, we all just stop and stare at the truck. Well we follow him and this game of take off and catch up for a good 3 miles. He procedes to turn right on a back road street and of course we follow him. We pull up to a red light and give'em a thumbs up. While we wait for the light he buts the brakes on and rev's his truck up to about 3g's I think. When the light turnned green vrooooommm... HOLY SH*T!!! He was gone with no wheel spin! I know what fast is and this was unbeliveable!! We slowly follow him and turn into his appartment building parking lot and get out and talk to him for awhile/ learn about his beast. This is what it had.

Horse Power at the wheels -- 500
Turbo LBS-- 17 to 20
0-60 time 3.8sec
1/4 mile time -- 12's
MANY MANY Mods

Oh by the way... the truck was a GMC Cyclone only 3000 of them made.

Kinda Long but I had to tell you.

And if a pickup truck isn't your style, then get the typhoon. the suv version. O' you didn't know?

i tried so hard to find one of those but i couldnt find one....

how does your friend like his 2000 aero? my dad has a base 9-5 wagon with a viggen cumputer and some other mods... its got 320 hp... its pretty sweet.... i dont get to drive it much....

the GM dealer here has a Cyclone sitting right out on the road....its pretty slick looking....geeez, if only I had a HUGE garage and unlimited funds!!! lol

He is a bit dissipointed with the Aero is been haveing a lot of electrical problems lately. Other than that he loves it. I have the standard 2000 9-5 sedan but a 5-speed and have not had any problems with it yet.

First of all the GMC Syclone and Typhoon will always have a special place in my heart...along with all those hot asian hunnies (oops did I say that :p )..sweet import models...oops side tracked...anyway...I used to know the owner of the fastest Typhoon in AMERICA!...this was like 2 years ago...he used to goto a local friday night car show...one night after almost everyone was gone..he took me for a launch down the parking lot (big lot)...it WAS INSANE!...I was instantly pressed into the seat...just insane...he also did some runs as I watched...man...the whole typhoon shifted back and NO WHEEL SPIN...and the baddest turbo sound I ever heard.

I wonder what he is up to these days...I believe at the time he was running low 11's...high 10's (race setup..race gas).

As for the Viggen...I like the way it looks...interiors are kinda funky...cool car though.

Had you never heard of the syclone? That is the fastest truck ever made in production. I'm not sure though, the new lightning may beat it though. I'll put my money on the syclone!

I saw one at a "test and tune" at the track one night...
He could pull some of the fastest launches I have ever seen. He was running low 13's completely stock if I remember correctly. He whipped the s*** out of a 1993 Mustang Saleen in the opposite lane. :) I would definitely put my money on the syclone, that is one bad ass truck!

i'm with ben...i would DEFINITELY put my money on the cyclone...those things were quick back in the day and they're still quick...

i'm still waiting for the new twin turbo chevy...it's based off the new SUV what's it called??
