The engine just dropped out of my car!

I know the engine would fall to the ground if all the mounts broke, thats what I was getting at when I said "I dont want to think about that."
Well if it isnt the motor mounts, what is it? I thought it was the mounts that failed and caused the engine to drop.
Either way, theres definetly something wrong in the engine compartment. Im assuming it has something to do with parts not being able to handle the power of the engine.

ok everyone... lets pay attention to whats being said in this thread.
There was no FAILURE of the mounts. This didnt happen because the mnounts are too weak or cannot handle the power of the car. This is how rumors get started.
This situation happened because a jackass in the factory forgot to tighten the bolts before the cars where sent off the assembly line. Period. A joker forgot to tighten the bolts.
There is no big conspiracy regarding the mounts; mazda is not trying to be cheap giving us bad mounts.

Mazda knows this. That's why they even fixed the guy's car who busted his tranny mount with a redline clutch drop. These mounts are failing b/c somebody screwed up at the factory, used the wrong bolt, the wrong torque, something. There are two different protocols for tightening the bolt per The Man's post on this topic awhile ago. That alone shows that something is screwed up.
i would be suprised if it was a person and not a machine... some one just programmed the wrong tq spec into a machine that tightened that specific bolt i am sure... probably only a certian build date as c ville asked earlier as i am sure the QC people didn't let it go for long as that stuff is checked and signed by more then one person (or it probably is now lol)
*NEWSFLASH* This just in:
A 2006 Mazda miata was brutally attacked and had its engine bay violated by a vicious 2.3 DISI motor that lept out of the engine bay of a passing MS3. Police say that the the DISI was able to break free of its prison due to weak mounts.
Eyewitnesses say that the Miata driver tried to swerve to avoid the dangerous DISI but the motor promptly caught up to the underpowered convertible, ripped its hood open and as the miatas motor cowered in fear and reportedly popped an oil leak due to panic, the DISI motor ripped it right out and made it self promptly at home in the engine bay.
