I finally did it. She was showing the warning signs of the transmission issue....I traded her in. I am now driving a 2013 F150 XLT 4x4 with ecoboost engine. I gotta say I like the truck soooo much more. Only issue is fuel economy but recent raise at work should cover fuel costs. It is sad to finally not drive a mazda though.

The "fix" is not that bigga' deal. You musta' been looking for an excuse to get out of it.

Every person who took it in on here said that mazda couldn't reproduce the results and gave em hell. I have a newborn, don't want my tranny to drop, and don't wanna deal with mazda hassling me on not fixing it or taking a while to. I ended up with positive equity so it's no skin off my back

Time to change your signature, no Mazda to trick out anymore.

Congrats. Ford's ecoboost is nice. Bullydog offers some nice items for your truck that could help with increasing your gas mileage and maybe even hp. Good luck.

This.

This is what warranties are for. I suppose if the F-150 shows some symptoms, you'll trade in again? lol. I'm just teasing. Enjoy your truck.

I did what you have done for different reasons and now I'm back with Mazda. Coincidentally I had a new job and better $ too. To add, the extra cash I had was burned by the truck, its like I didn't even get a better paying job.

Had a 5, no issues other than a bit small (so I thought). After 1 year I traded for a RAM 1500 with CrewCab and the 5.7L HEMI MDS. I got all googley eyed and rushed in because of the power of that truck and also had a terrible dealership experience. Even 1 month afterwards it just didn't feel right. Payments were too high, gas was ridiculous. I was getting about 18MPG or 13L/100km and filled up weekly in a mix of 70/30 highway/city driving. Parking was not as easy, by that I mean availability because of the size. I tried to get our 5 back, even with a few $1000 loss, the dealer was silent, no help at all. I went back to Mazda and picked up what is shown in my sig. Couldn't be happier and Driving is a pleasure again.

There is way more to the story but I'm hoping you made the right choice for the right reason, enjoy!

That's exactly what I was thinking. And nearly all Ford products are more likely to have warranty issues. Enjoy the truck, your local gas stations will too.

Although many Mercedes/Audi/BMW drivers wait until after warranty expires and dump them, sharp drop in resale value reflects the out of warranty state, but that's different.

I wouldn't be able to afford gas for a full size truck. I put on way too many miles a year and would easily spend double in gas what I do now. A guy I work with says it costs him $20 a day to get to work with his Nissan Titan and he lives 15 miles closer to work than I do.
