Washing a car is PITA if you dont have a place to do it.
I have washed my car twice in 6 months - time to fix the door ding and get it cleaned up and waxed.

Yours is two pieces as well. Not sure about pre-2016s.

Mine doesnt. I dont know if 16 had it and 16.5 didnt. My mazda has one continuous smile with no split at all

Are you sure? Its not noticeable unless you really look closely. I thought mine was a single piece until I studied it while washing mine one afternoon. I doubt Mazda redesigned the parts between those years, but I'll check out the 2016.5s when I go to pick up a cabin filter this weekend.

The metal smile trim or metallic looking trim has no break - I looked from 1 meter. On 17 the chrome smile is broken in the middle. I will send a pic.

Maybe its just a seam on the exterior of the trim, which led me to think it was actually two pieces....

Might want to pick up some extra soft brush to help clean grille I've thought about getting something similar to speed up cleaning honeycomb grille on my '15.

Washing is not the the issue....its the drying and waxing.

Drying:
The slat grill style always has water stuck in between crevices and drips. I hit up for a good 5 minutes to dry. The 2013 honeycomb style dries up faster. The 2017 appears like it will dry faster too.

The Blaster Sidekick is great for getting the stubborn water out of areas like the slats, side mirrors, filler cap, around the lights etc. All the areas that hold onto it ready to be released just as you're waxing (mad)

An electric leaf blower than has never been used in vacuum mode works well too.

My electric leaf blower is very effective in blowing away water stuck in hard to reach areas plus drying out windows too. Also helps minimize hose water from creating water spots. Additionally I can dry up wheels/tires in about 1 minute each. I can also dry up the garage floor quicker too. Speeds up the entire car wash process.
