The 1999-2000 Protege Pic thread

Anyone have any idea as to what I should do? In my previous post, I listed 3 ideas I may/may not do...... What would be the best for an Emerald Green Mica/Black Mica Protege sedan?

1) Blacked out tailights, headlights, corner lights and fogs

2) Blacked out tailights, but black housing headlights and corner lights

3) Blacked out tailights, headlights, corner lights and fogs AND black housing tailights, headlights, corner lights.

Help me out peoples!!

I don't know how, but this car was missed. J/K it's mine, but just wanted to see what you guys thought. I love the 99-00 body style more than the new ones... The JDM style headlights look so much better IMO.

Actually, all these pics were taken before I put in the Racing Beat springs and Tokico HP struts, so it looks better now. Just haven't taken any recent pics

A combination of Emerald Green Mica and Black Mica flake. I was thinking of painting the housing black, but IM not sure whether I should do that by itself or smoke the lens as well. Then wouldn't it defeat the purpose of having the housing black?

that would defeat the purpose, i think painting the housing looks a bit better than tinting the whole thing, and also I think the dark housing looks best on light cars like silver, white, yellow, and blue, If i had a dark green or black car, id have the headlights as clear as possible, thats just me.

i have black bezels and the lower and upper part are black on the reflector part, only the sides and back of the light are still silver...

Yeah, having the headlamps tinted charcoal (or smoked) would totally defeat the purpose of having the black housing. You wouldn't be able to see it. Plus its a lot of extra work to buy all the supplies and paint them all (corner lights included) then turn around just to cover them all up with a tint job. Im thinking I may just go with the tint job. Thanks Nautical.

good stuff, how do you like those rotors you have too? improvement over stock?

Yeah the Brembo rotors were probably one of the best investments I made in the car. On the heat side, you have to push then REALLY hard to get any sort of fade from them. I've only been able to over cook them slightly from repeat runs along some hardcore roads, but that took some doing! On the "bite" side, I'd say that the slots grab the pads a lot better and braking from 80+ is a lot more firm than stock. On the down side, they shed A LOT of brake dust, but as long as you keep up on that, it's no biggie.

If I were to buy them all over again though, I would have just gone with the slotted and forgone the cross drilled. I think that the venting would be sufficient enough and there would be no sacrifice to the bite, nor any risk of cracks forming around the drilled holes (although I haven't had any yet). Hope that helps ya.

Yeah i just orderd those too, only because i got them for 95 shipped and i have a friend who liked them, otherwise i would have just went with plain slotted.

I have the slotted ones from PowerSlot. I hear they are much better than crossdrilled one. Im kinda anal about brake dust all over my wheels so I went with the slotted ones. I guess they put out less dust as opposed to cross-drilled. Plus like FlyinHawaiian said, the slotted rotors will last a little bit longer than CD and not fade as quickly.

here is a pic I took today after what happened on saturday.
