Just a thanks to all the people who contributed or encouraged those of us at the SCCA Nationals last week! I really enjoyed meeting faces for some of the names. Extra special thanks to Andy and Theresa for being my pit crew, and to Justin for throwing out a few tips from the sidelines! Sorry I didn't bring home the gold for the Mazda crew. I'm still trying to figure out how much time 0.072 seconds really is.(sick)

Cindy, I read on some other thread where you were putting Avons on the rears. The Hoosier A6s fit perfectly in the 225/40 x 17 size on +50 offset wheels. I used them on all 4 wheels because they are lighter and shorter so I can get back on boost a little sooner after the slow corners. Only drops the top speed in 2nd a couple mph.

Also, with Hoosiers in all 4 tire positions you would have qualified for contingency payout from Hoosier if you had registered and put the stickers on the car. I won one tire for my 2nd place in DS at the Packwood National Tour.

I hope you registered with Mazda and qualified for their contingency payout, too!

Great driving, way ahead the first day! You've inspired me to take my car to Nats next year.

Blink.

Congrats tho, we were all rooting for you :)

Thanks for all your encouragement MS Pro! I've appreciated your positive comments. Unfortunately, I'm a very under budget racer. My family and friends donated money to buy me two tires for the big show, so I got the two A6's. I was running on closeout Avons all year. Mid year, my co-driver found a closeout on RS05 Hoosiers, so I had two road race tires on front and two Avons on back, helped the car rotate locally. The A6's were amazing. I just don't have nearly $1k to throw on tires. That's probably why I'm 2nd place. It's all good. Unfortunately, the car is going away now, it is for sale, so I don't know what I'll be driving next year(I own 3 other Mazdas, so probably another Mazda). You should go. It's a great experience for anyone who likes this sport. I am a Mazda Motorsports member, so yes, I'll be sending in the contingency form.

I went last year and placed second on 4 victoracers. Definitely not the competitive tire. :) Three trips and two trophies, I'm bound to finish up top someday.:)

Cindy...it was great meeting you in Topeka. I have to say thank you for letting me borrow the tire covers. With the temperature drop on Thur/Fri everyone was fighting to keep heat in the tires. With the wind blowing the way it was Patrick and I would have been screwed without them. I hope to see you back out there next year.

Just out of curiosity, what do you get from mazda's contingency program?

Cash money bling bling! Second place ought to have a pretty good payout!

First is good for $800.

National Tour pays $200 for a win

Best part though is buying parts at cost. That has saved me bunches of money.

It was great to meet Justin & Patrick. I also met Bridget. Great time!
