I don't know, I might be out of line, but I just ran across a really old Thread. It was about the mods trying to change the MSP forum. I would like to thank EVERY MAZDASPEED owner that fought to keep it like it is. No disrespect to anyone, but I honestly don't care about the other proteges. They just don't interest me, I want to see pics of the product on our car. I want to see the dyno numbers for product on our cars. I got excited when I found a nitrous thread then realized it was on a P5, that's pretty useless to me. For real though, not trying to put people down. If you took it that way. Thanks guys.

I think I need to clarify here.

It is entirely understandable that an MSP owner be interested soely in there protege. Thats all well and good. No one is or was trying to fight that. However we are not an MSP sight. We are a protege site. Also with this comes that there really arent a ton of differences between the MSP and other 3rd gens. There are even less when compared with the MP3. Becuase of this we have different areas for different subjects. FI, car audio, perfomance, appearence, ect. So we have a conflict of interests of sorts.

We have a car (MSP) is different (atleast more so) then any other protege but we also have individual sections that those differences are catagorized into. Thus we have a real (crazy) on our hands. Mostly the questions come down to organization. How do we keep things organized as we grow so everyone can best learn. Its a very tough question and no one has a great answer yet.

Basicly what stays in the MSP section or any protege model section and what gets shipped off to others? We could keep a thread about the MSP suspension in the MSP section but that thread may already be in the MP3 section (same suspension) fifty times over already. So do we move them all to the tires rim suspension section? It be alot of work and may be benificail but is it the best thing to do? Same can be said for exhuasts. The MSP, MP3 and sedan all have the same cat back setup. YOu can even to a down pipe back setup for an MSP on a regular sedan. THis is agian a pain as not alot of people know this but once they do its benificail to more then the MSP section only. So where does it go.

Now this isn't for just the MSP, every section has the same questions that can come up and be a organization nightmare.

Now onto what happened.
Me, Razor and most all the mods and admins debated what to do. Razor/matt was asked to organize things. he ask how and asked many questions for directions on what to do. We answered and he proceeded. An hour later a s*** storm insued and all the mods realized we were either just wrong or were no where near descriptive enough. It was a mistake by all of us. Unfortunitly Matt was the one asked to do it and he got the most s*** for it, even though it was not his call.

Now my comment about why did you post this here was to bring up, if the MSP sectionis your sole reason for being here, then why post in off topic. I would assume becuase you aswell have both an idea of where things belong and you wish to be helpful in that respect as most people do. Surely not everything belongs in the MSP section, the probelm is deciding what does.

ok then..... no more posting in a thread that was started by a p5(like you did in the car audio/electronics) or even in the 3rd gen section(which you did)!! i understand that if you put a bov on my protege it isnt going to do the same thing if you put it on your mazdaspeed but what if i put sparco seats in mine.... oh yeah they fit yours too, exhaust for a sedan.... same..... rims..same bolt patters and offset issues!
guess we all have alot in common except we dont have hesitation problems, clunks.

sorry i do not have a problem with anybody on this forum i just hate it when people think they are better, plus i have been up for 26hrs and am kinda pissy anyway

edit: i have my fire extinguisher ready now)

point is: some things should NOT be in the msp section, and some should...as an admin it is my duty, and the job of the other mods, to move what needs to be moved.

i am sick of seeing the same posts,"but it's for a msp, it goes there", not always is this the case. it's simple really, if it has pics, it goes to photo section, if it's performance, thats where it goes, and so forth.

any questions?

i haven't really frequented the mazdaspeed section... and if this is the mentality that is held in that section, i'm glad i'm not there. what's up with the whole not caring about the regular protege and only caring about the msp? since when did a turbo make a protege so special? there are turbo p5's and regular sedans and mp3's that will hand you your ass... i just can't grasp this superiority complex. face it big guy... the msp is still a protege. components are shared all over. get over it.

I feel I need to defend him a bit here.
As many people will when they first start looking at the MSP or this site, they get excited about the car. They have not learned what is the same and what is different. Him not being interested in a regualr Protege doesn't neccissarily mean he could care less if they even existed, it simpy means he has an excitment about his car right now and thats what he wants to know about. He is not any different then most of us are or where when we started out here. I for one was gitty about my MP3 but didn't know much about a P5 or really care to. Then I found out how close the cars really were and that its the passion we all have for our respective cars that moves this site along.

Everyone needs to tweek there sensitivity down a bit. Remove your pride form the car you drive this way there is no need in defending something that is not under attack.

Like I said I meant NO DISRESPECT. I post in the other forums because I DO believe the 3rd gen is a protege, like mine. The other forum post were just to get my post count up because I want to actively participate in these forums. The thing is, sometimes I might not even know a product or trick might exist. Then when I come into the MSP section someone is talking about it then I do a search for more info. And THAT is why I like the MSP section the way it is. Just last week I learned that a product called toulene(sp?) will raise my octane level, I never heard of this, and it would help me greatly with the fact that here I can only find 91. I never would have known this, I never would have done a search, and more then likely, I would not have seen this in the 3rd gen section even though it will benefit all proteges.
