Text messages behind

Purchased our 2025 CX-5 Preferred trim last weekend. I connected my phone by Bluetooth and it worked as expected. The next time I was in the car, my text messages didn't come through in real time. It didn't play the current message that came through to my phone, but it played the previous message that my phone received. Using the update option on the infotainment screen that shows play the message, would also not update to pick up the current message.

The settings on the car and in my phone have not changed, and are as they were when I initially connected my phone. My phone is a Samsung S24 FE. My wife's phone doesn't experience this problem. She has a Samsung S22.

Anyone experience this problem and/or have a solution for me??? HELP!!!

Do you (or your wife) have Android Auto running, or is this question for the cars factory radio system?

If you are both using the same mechanism and your wife's phone works, I would look into your phone/app's settings.

Thanks RedBaron. The confusing thing is, text messages were coming through in real time with the initial connection. It is the reconnecting it does when getting back in the car that has the text messages one behind what is in my phone. And, phone calls are not effected. Pandora plays from my phone correctly, too. I have been unable to diagnose anything in my phone or the car settings that appear to be other than what they should be. Also, we just sold a 2017 Mazda 6, and I had mo problems with this same phone.

Thanks Snake. Oue settings are the same. The odd thing is, it worked fine initially, but upon reconnecting the next time in the car, the car and my phone are not synchronizing for messages. It has the dealership baffled. I have reached out to Mazda regarding it.

No, but I have removed the car from the phone and the phone from the car, and then paired them again. That did not change anything. I did a hard reset on the car by disconnecting the battery. When I paired the two following the reset, the messages came through on time, but then back in the car today, the messages were again out of synch. Keep in mind, during all of this the settings remain the same. So, nothing about it makes walking around sense, much less any other kind of sense.

Here's another avenue: disconnect the Bluetooth and connect your iPhone through cable. See if you notice any difference.

My bad, I know that Samsung is Android. I don't know why I was under the impression that you have an iPhone. If you say both cellphones have the same settings, check the software, maybe there is a software version difference between yours and your wife's phone.

Thanks ADS-B. The fact that my messages were in synch initially has me thoroughly aggravated. It is the connection after re-entering the vehicle when they are not synchronized. I will try next by restarting my phone just before re-entering the car next time. Like I said in an earlier message, I did not have this problem in the 2018 Mazda 6. Nothing about it makes any sense to me.
