Texas HB 1068 Front Plate Law Repeal

I heard they recently changed the front plate law to remove the fine. I have no proof of this I was just told that there is no longer a fine for not having a front plate. Either way I haven't had one since I got my MSP last July and haven't had any problems.

The local Sheriff's Dept stopped by a few months back to check up on us. We were robbed a few years ago. House broken into and riding mower stolen... and before anyone asks, no, we don;t store the riding mower in the house. Two separate incidences.
Anyway, we got to talking about such things. The TxDOT site claims that front plates in the windshield are legal, at least the last time I looked. But according to this Deputy they are only legal there as a temporary fix.
In other words, if a cop spots you one week and your plate is displayed in the windshield, he'd/she'd better not catch you the next week with it still displayed there.
That said, mine has been in the windshield since 2006 or '07 and never have I been pulled over for it. Nor has any cop said anything to me when I was pulled over for "other" things.

I dont like the look of a front plate. I was lucky and the mp3 bumper i got didn't have holes for one so i wont be putting any either. So jope this passes.

Like I say i've never had a problem not running a front plate on my MSP or the Bullitt, but cops in SA may be different. I have two sets of holes in my front bumper for a license plate but I would rather rock the holes than have a front plate.

cops in SA are lets say not friendly lol. got my bro for having it on the windshield and mee too n base. i sorta was told put it on the bumper or nxt time ill get u for it lol. he got a citation
