Test Pipe noises?

i took my car into the dealer for a oil change and for them to look at a squeaky noise my car was making and they told me it was from my SU Test Pipe so i just said oh alright then he walked me to the service counter and told me to put loctite on the screws to keep them from vibrating and making the noise and that was that...... has anyone else heard of doing that?

I think the dealer is just giving you BS. I've had mine on for over 10,000 miles and haven't heard any squeaks out of it.

Did the recommendation work? I'm kinda skeptical, but maybe they got it right (for a change).

i havent done anything to it yet, im not sure if it would hold up from all the heat... but has anyone else heard a squeaky noise when your in first gear and your letting the clutch out.. its like as soon as the gear is about to catch.. sounds sort of like higher pitched noise spring

Yes, I believe I know exactly what you're talking about. Sometimes do you also hear the same squeaky noises when you shut off the car? That happens to me too and I believe there's a service bulletin on the 6s with the same exhaust set-up. Undo your test pipe and use fine sand paper to clean both mating surfaces on the dp and the tp where they connect, then your squeaky noises will go away.

yeah! i normally hear it after i have drove for a little while and i shut off my car it will squeak a few times... then its always when i release the clutch in first. thanks man for the advice!

i have a CS tp. and it squeaks as well. especially when dis and engaging my clutch.

i think its b/ i used the OEM springs from the OEM midpipe.

did yuou use the springs as well? i think mine arent tight enough. imma tighten them this weekend to see if it stops

Np, just trying to help a fellow "ms3er" out cause I had the same problem and it annoyed the hell out of me.

hey let me know if that takes care of the problem, im not going to be able to get under the car till next week.... make sure you sand that mother!

haha yeah it was kinda scary especially when i got a extremely good deal on the extended warranty... but all they did was acknowledge the fact i had a after market exhaust piece, then the service manager gave me some advice with it, i always have my oil changed there so maybe they respect that?

I'm interested in knowing if the sand paper trick works? My test pipe is squeaking now and I really want to get rid of that annoying noise.

The sand paper trick didn't work completely. I even replaced the donut gasket. I think the problem is that the test pipe doesn't have room to move. I plan on buying the Turboxs testpipe with the flex section to see if it helps.
