Are you adding something after market? The CX-7 doesn't display the interior temperature, all you can do is set the auto climate control to a specific temp and it will try to maintain that.

I was not aware you could enable this feature on a trim level that didn't have it. If the sensor was already there I'd imagine they'd have enabled it on all trim levels, so I'm guessing it's not a simple case of "hooking up a wire."
There is an "ambient air temp" sensor on all versions of the car. But I doubt it is the same sensor as the GT uses that shows ambient on the dash.
The dashhawk can read from the AAT sensor, but its usually 5-10F above outside ambient. So unless the GT model has some sort of scaling built in or the ambient shown on the dash is generally wrong, then the GT probably has some extra sensor.
