'88 RX7 convertible
I reciently bought my first RX-7. It's an '88 convertible non-turbo. The night I bought it one of the oil cooler lines blew, hense loseing all oil presure, I stoped it but I don't think I got stoped in time. I repaired the line, and I've had difficulty getting it started. I replaced the plugs (they were both oil and fuel fouled). Then with a jump she started up. Here comes the bad part, it smoked, smoked and smoked some more. You know that very think white with a slight blue tint smoke. I let it runn for a little bit (about 2 to 3 min). Hope it would clear itself out. While it was running I was checking over my repair job, it was all good. I was also keeping an eye on my oil pressure guage, and guess what, it was slowly dropping.
So here is were I need your help. I don't have mutch experance on the rotary engins, but I've been reading alot about them. It looks to me like (I hate to say it) it's "blown". Is this how one of these things act when they let go? Is there anything else I should check out before I commit to a rebuld? Please help me out, by telling me it's not as bad as I"m thinking!
I'll tell ya for my first rortary, I havn't had teh chance to enjoy it and I'm begining to rethink this whole thing.

PS It only has 113 K on it!!

From what I understand 113K is probably rebuild time anyway. THere are some FC guys on here who will be able to help you out. New motors frome FC3S Boy or whatever his name is are like 850 bucks and they are J Spec motors.

"I have a bunch of used low mile j specs motors for it for $850.00 swap it in and you'll have a strong running car, I would buy it if you were closer"

Copied this from a thread that he was posting in (FC3s Boy) I believe his name is Chris.

on a n/a motor i have seen 200,000 miles and up on a properly serivced motor, you can get a comp. tester and test the motor to see if you have lost compression on it, what is the oil pressure at idle and at 3k rpm's - chris

I've talked to a few guy's who have worked on Rotay's and they seem to think is a face seal. FC3s boy, is it true that you have 13B's for sale? Are they rebuilds or new? Is $850 right? I've found the various kit's needed for a rebuild, they come to $1150. If you do have 13B's, I might be interested.

I have the 13b turbo motor's they are low mile pullouts not rebuilds
