Tein S-Tech Springs - Opinions please

I have been doing much research on what springs to put in my P5 and so far from what I have found on this site the Tein's look the best IMO. I am sure there is a thread in here somewhere about S-Tech opinions from before but this forum is getting so huge it is hard to find stuff in the archives.

So please tell me, good stuff, bad stuff lay it on me!

How do they ride? Any rubbing on factory wheel and tire size? Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Great ride...rubs with 48+ offset in the back if you are turning hard. Roll the fenders and all is good.

The Tiens and the Eibachs are my two favorites.

well, i just finished a trip with the trunk really loaded. the wheels were practically tucked, no rubbing noticed. (stock wheels/tires) ride is good, similar to stock. very smooth on smooth roads, rough on the rough ones. my only complaint (granted it may just be my car) is a clunking noise in the rear after rough bumps and some direction changes (forward/reverse) I don't think anything is loose (unless a spring is seated wrong) so I attribute it to the swaybar hitting the rear lower control arm during suspention travel (they are really close)
so, little quirks aside, they are great

Sway bar touching the control arm, not a quirk, that is bad!! You got aftermarket shocks or just the stk ones?

eepr5...I think it is something other than the sway bar since the bar and the trailing arms move simultaneously with suspension travel. They should always stay apart. If you have an aftermarket swaybar with the stock endlinks then that is a different story.

Andy I sent you a PM with some photos. Also for comparison if you see a picture of GhostP5's car, he has the Eibachs.

I have the stock struts and swaybar. I guess I'll try and get it up on a lift this week and check that everything is tight. there is only so much I can do on the ground.

I really like mine. Have had them about 2 months now. I have never rubbed with my stock wheels and tires, and have no clunk or rattle from the rear like some have had with lowering springs. I have the stock struts still. Definitely recommend them for a street spring...would probably want something stiffer if you're going to autocross seriously or something though.

I have posted pics of my car before with them...if you'd like to see the pics lemme know and I'll post em.

This is my car with the S-TECH spring installed. I no longer have it installed anymore, due to the reason being I started to drive my clients around in this car is the ride was a b**** to them... Me personally I kinda like it tough....

Sorry for the delay.

I love my teins... could I suggest getting the Tokico blue struts while you are at though... they make the ride much more compliant.

P.S. sorry about the ugly steelies, winter sucks

my parents got me the tein s-tech springs. im anxious to install them as soon as i have enough to get them done and get my alignment done.

What's a good price or average price for these and from where? I can offer a group buy on these if you want.

THanks, Rishie

I'd wait to find them on eBay if I was going to buy them. It's probably the route I'm going to go when I buy springs. Every once in a while (once a month or so) there's a killer deal where you can get four springs shipped for like 139 dollars. Right now you can get them for like 170 shipped, but I'd rather wait and save the extra 30 bucks because when I do it I want to do it right and get the struts too.. I'll probably go with the HPs as I don't need anything extremely adjustable since this car probably won't see the track. It's just my cruiser. :)
