Tein Basic Damper vs. Tein SS Damper

I know the difference is the adjustability of the shocks/struts...can anyone here with the basic kit tell me how they ride?

I rode in a P5 with Basics and it was a great ride. If you want the damper rate, it's only a few hundred more... I'd be content with basics :]

i've rode in a Pro5 with basics, felt good. Also rode in a Pro5 with SS, felt good too. hard to tell the difference. actually, it's prob best to see what suits you. if you are thinking of tracking more, you will get more adjustment with the SS. if you are just looking for height adjustment and something just better than stock, basics will do fine.

Ive got a set of SS that im thinking of selling to my cousin, they are still new in the box...i never got around to installing them cuz my car was in the shop for 2.5 months gettin the internals done...im thinkin i wud never really adjust them...i just want a nice ride....so if the basics were comfy enough (not too stiff like my tokicos) i would just sell him my SS buy the basics and pocket the change. What do you guys think? Im just tired of the car hitting hard.

Thanks for the heads up by the way i appreciate it.

I have the SS and I love it but when I got it I had a recall on the rear..(pissed) I had to ship it to tein in cali.. They could not find out what was wrong with it.. So they had to send it to japan it took forever it was 6 month to get it back..But I put it on and I love it I can hit high speed corners and have so much fun.. The recall was a washer and a spacer...(p5black)

Tein SS. Don't even consider anything less. The SS allow you to adjust your ride quality, vs just lowering.

are the ss valved soft enough that u can get the same soft comfy ride as the basics? or are they stiffer at the minimum setting.

I'd like to know to, I doubt the basics or SS are soft and comfy though. I want Tein's real soon, I'd love to find out.

A bit off topic here, but those with Tein SS; do you have a 16 way adjustable dampening or 24 way?

Also what dampening setting is standard?

sorry i was goin off teins website.

Thanks for helping. I was just wondering cause it seems like it supposed to be 16 way and was wondering if I have a different model or somehting.

I did buy these coilovers used. So maybe.

Any Tein SS users in here?

In my opinion, as long as they use the factory top-hat, mushie and rubbery, the ride wont be as harsh as a pillow-mount. I know the spring rating, has a lot to do, but the hard mount will transfer any road surface right into your spine.
